Thanks, @Mitch54321 ! To be fair, my TR FTP is based on my indoor power. My outdoor numbers tend to be about 10% higher. Whether that is a difference in power meters, inertia, or what have you, I can’t say, but I definitely couldn’t hold that power on the trainer! I did surprise myself though- expected normalized to be nearly 30W lower for this ride, but I went deep.
As far as the bike geo goes, I fiddled with it for a couple of days, but ultimately I think I got kind of lucky and stumbled upon a good fit. The first 15 miles I was pretty uncomfortable, but I settled in and felt great the rest of the day.
I wish I could tell you- I did weigh it loaded on race morning for tire pressure. 24 lbs including a set of alloy TT bars (don’t worry, they’re already off!), tubes/tools, some gels, two bottle cages, 3 empty bottles, head unit, and pedals. I’ll weigh it again stripped down and let you know.
I have just sold one pair of ENVEs (5.6) that came with another bike. That was a private sale.
The Roubaix is going back to my local Spesh dealer. Getting all the components stripped, and an Aethos in return with basically the same components (the Seatpost doesn’t fit, and a new/bigger chainring).
Glad to hear you got the Roubaix, but even more happy you’re enjoying it… the fact it’s got a lot of performance cues and is still comfortable.manageable makes a huge difference.
Just a lil side note… the rubber boot around the future shock system will occasionally crack… don’t freak out if/when it happens. Specialized is aware and have been very good about it being replaced w/no charge to the user. I dunno how long that’ll last but it’s there when it happens. I put a pic up of mine so you’d have an idea of what it’ll look like if/when it does happen.
