2020 Specialized Roubaix

Very impressive ride!

Pretty amazed you did it on a new bike as well - presumed it would take a couple of rides to get used to the saddle/geometry etc… and after a swim!

We have similar FTPs and i cant imagine holding 230 watts for 6 hours but im hoping to get there soon.

Thanks, @Mitch54321 ! To be fair, my TR FTP is based on my indoor power. My outdoor numbers tend to be about 10% higher. Whether that is a difference in power meters, inertia, or what have you, I can’t say, but I definitely couldn’t hold that power on the trainer! I did surprise myself though- expected normalized to be nearly 30W lower for this ride, but I went deep.

As far as the bike geo goes, I fiddled with it for a couple of days, but ultimately I think I got kind of lucky and stumbled upon a good fit. The first 15 miles I was pretty uncomfortable, but I settled in and felt great the rest of the day.

Dammit, you’re almost making me interested in a bike I’ve always been a bit sniffy about. And that blue is SO nice… :grimacing:

How much does it weigh, out of interest?

I’ve currently entertaining vague (but financially entirely unrealistic) fantasies about a Roubaix with Ekar as an allday, no stress, go long bike

I wish I could tell you- I did weigh it loaded on race morning for tire pressure. 24 lbs including a set of alloy TT bars (don’t worry, they’re already off!), tubes/tools, some gels, two bottle cages, 3 empty bottles, head unit, and pedals. I’ll weigh it again stripped down and let you know.

That sounds like a fun bike!

I have the 2020 Team Edition (the one with SL6 geo, raced by pro teams) and it is an utterly lovely bike. Great fun to ride, yet, very very fast.

Gorgeous! I am stoked about my mere sport level bike, but that is sweet.

Cheers, sadly it will soon have a new family… :sob:

Why are you getting rid of it?

Because someone released something else I wanted to have and I am a sucker for these type of things  :weary:

Dang,
I just looked at your background in your pic with the Roubaix being weighed. 2 sets of Enve!

Sell the wheels and keep the bike!
Where are you selling the bike?

I have just sold one pair of ENVEs (5.6) that came with another bike. That was a private sale.
The Roubaix is going back to my local Spesh dealer. Getting all the components stripped, and an Aethos in return with basically the same components (the Seatpost doesn’t fit, and a new/bigger chainring).

Nice, I’m jealous. That roubaix looked nice

Glad to hear you got the Roubaix, but even more happy you’re enjoying it… the fact it’s got a lot of performance cues and is still comfortable.manageable makes a huge difference.

Just a lil side note… the rubber boot around the future shock system will occasionally crack… don’t freak out if/when it happens. Specialized is aware and have been very good about it being replaced w/no charge to the user. I dunno how long that’ll last but it’s there when it happens. I put a pic up of mine so you’d have an idea of what it’ll look like if/when it does happen.

Again, glad you got one and safe riding!
