Interesting. Makes sense. I have tried both the AR and Aero Enve bars on road and gravel and found the Aero much more comfortable personally. I dont find the Aero bar too stiff and found the flat tops much better to hold onto/rest than the tiny flat top section on the AR. But glad you find them comfortable.
I’m the complete opposite. Enve aero bar is way too flat. One of the least comfortable bars I’ve ever used. AR being smaller is way more comfortable to my hands. I had the Aerofly II on my SL7 and that is the most uncomfortable bar ever. Those super flat tops just don’t do it for me.
do you wrap your whole hand around the tops? I usually just place / rest my hands on the flattop thus love the huge aero platform
I’ve tried wrapping my hands around them (kind of a C with my hand) but they’re too deep. I’ve also tried the thumb up by my fingers, so basically just resting my palms with my fingers gripping at the top and find that even more uncomfortable. I much prefer an oval shape; Enve AR or Black Inc (the older 1-piece) have been my favorite. Those two are the most comfortable to my riding style.
Well we must have very different hands! Glad you like them though.
