FloBikes has a free livestream on YouTube right now if you wanna test out their coverage first. Suspect they’ll keep it there for the first few stages, or select stages only.
I presume it’s geolocked and not visible unless using a Canadian VPN or are physically in Canada.
for those on peacock, what price tier are you paying for? I’m on the “cheap” one and am stuck with the normal feed. Does anyone have the expensive “commercial free” tier and have a commercial free feed with better commentary? This is the first year I’ve gotten to the tour after having stopped paying the big bux and I’m curious if that’s making the difference on the feed availability.
I’m on the more expensive tier for the month and they have the replay up but just the Phil feed. No intl feed like last year. Checked the audio / subtitles and no alt audio track…
Guess we’re stuck with Phil feed on peacock. It is gawdawful.
Peacock is so bad. The US coverage has never been great but this was the worst I remember. On top of the ads you have to watch a bunch of guys repeating the same stuff over and over.
Why do they have to show them staring at each other when the race is going on? Even if the race is calm, I rather see the scenery.
I’m addition to the alternatives in English, here are some in other languages using VPN: Caracol TV (Colombia, Spanish), RAI (Italy, Italian).
Even if you don’t understand the language, at least you get the race images and less ad breaks.
Worse, it is the same nonsense they have been repeating for decades.
Phil should have retired years ago….hell, he should have resigned in disgrace after the Armstrong truth came out. He and Paul Sherwin were waist deep in complicity.
Bob Roll was never anything but a buffoon. He wrote a funny book 30+ years ago and has been riding the coattails of that ever since. VdV can’t even complete a single sentence.
Mind-numbing how NBC / Comcast has let this clown show go on for this long, especially after Eurosport has shown them what excellence looks like. It is just lazy and shows a lack of respect for their viewers.
I watched the Peacock feed today and I’ll try SBS tomorrow
Worth keeping in mind that the readers of this forum are not the audience for the peacock feed. They are, for better or worse, trying to broadcast to a more casual American cycling fan, who needs to have echelons explained because they haven’t watched a bike race since last July
I’d argue that this is an awful decision - these fans don’t exist in meaningful numbers - but perhaps they do.
Certainly I find the Peacock feed absolutely awful and wish they would learn from the European broadcasts - but they don’t really care about my opinion as I’m not their target audience
Completely agree with all of this. Moreover, without an Armstrong-like American figure in the sport, I don’t think they need to cater to the casual Michelob ultra fan who loves Sheryl Crow and wants to see how her boyfriend….wait, wrong decade. My bad.
American cycling fans—-particular those consuming a streaming, overseas broadcast—-are fairly serious fans of the sport. This isn’t Olympic curling for the “what’s on tonight, honey” TV viewer.
