I use sleep cycle also. I find it’s accurate enough to inform me how to change my behavior.
It measures time in bed which prompts me to go to bed earlier.
And it measures sleep quality which makes me realize how my sleep quality deteriorates it I drink more than 1 or 2 beers, and if I get a head cold. So I drink less, and am diligent about hygiene - hand sanitizer, not touching my face.
Another Sleep Cycle user here, for several years now. I don’t use the microphone, it doesn’t seem as accurate to me, just put the phone on the bed, it’s a security blanket by this point I think The function that adjusts the alarm to when you’re in a light sleep phase is very useful. Almost never anymore do I awake groggy out of a deep sleep.
I also as of late have taken to wearing a Garmin watch at all times and that sleep tracking seems no where near as accurate. Rates me as “awake” lots of times when I clearly wasn’t. And vice versa. Also the times are way off because it starts and stops automatically, and normally gets it wrong.
I think I’m going to try sleep cycle since its free while i look into things more. The EMFIT sounds like something that I’m looking for, but i want to know more about what other people think about it.
I really would prefer not to have to wear anything so the Whoop, Garmin, Fitbit, etc are all second choices right now.
I’m using an Apple Watch with Auto Sleep too. While it’s very good, it’s not great, and sometimes it will tell me I was awake for over an hour when I wasn’t or that I woke up at a different time in the morning. I have to adjust the sensitivity maybe once a month to correct a grossly incorrect day.
Has anyone compared the Apple Watch with sleep tracking app to the Whoop? Even though I have the latest Apple Watch, I’m still curious if there is something better and the Whoop score intrigues me. I’m a lousy sleeper.
I just bought a Garmin Fenix 5X Plus last week. Sold my Fenix 5 Sapphire about 5 months ago but missed it dearly so had to buy another one. Love it so far but I’m not using the pulse oxymeter very much because that seemed to drain battery and I’m pretty comfortable here at 300ft altitude.
I have a Garmin and a sleepscore to track my sleep but my frustration is that it only tells me how I slept not how I should or what to do to improve. Does anyone have any experience with a solution that “coaches” or provides a prkogram for improving sleep specifically based on your results (kind of like a SSB program set of a sleep version of FTP)?
