What I tend to do for Zwift races is add them to my calendar as C races and let TR figure out what I should be doing between them
I wouldn’t wait until next year to get started racing, that’s a long way off. Jump in, have fun and who cares if you come last? I’ve come close to the back of the field plenty of times
Why do you say “do Specialty twice”? Is that what TR is prescribing?
I agree that if you don’t have a race or event you’re driving toward, you’d be better off building a bigger Base than going into Specialty; just make sure you mix in some VO2 work as you approach your racing season. Zwift racing can be VERY tough, especially if you’ve only been focused on zones 1-4. You’re going to need to build your ability to shoot out hard at the gun and hold it for a long time, and also to respond to attacks.
Hey @Cardas I am not seeing the 2 Specialty blocks on your plan.
I see that PB is taking you through a natural Base>>Build>>Specialty Phase transition.
I think what may have happened is that if you created a training plan previous to the current with no event or end date, it just created a year plan that will run you through the Base>>Build>>Specialty Phase twice.
There are stand-alone Zwift races year-round - you don’t have to do a whole series. Zwiftpower.com has a slightly better interface for filtering events than the native Zwift events site.
I was suggesting you pick a day or two, sometime in the Fall to do a race or two, just for fun. No need to put too much thought into them - really just a pin in the calendar to build the training plan around.
