Anyone want to suffer on the wafer with me?

I’ll suffer the wafer with you lol. My pace is going to be a “just trying to finish” pace.

I’ve gone down Pinnacle on 30mm road tires! but that was this spring when the two track was as buff as I’ve ever ridden it. I raced on pinnacle in May and had 38mm tires with cush cores in. Still as scary as can be.

the whole bit of Pinnacle Mountain is ~30-45 minutes on a 7 hour day. Take your time, be selective with your line choices, and you’ll be good to go.

So do we know pinnacle is in it? Or are we still just guessing the route?

Still a guessing game, maybe 1 more week? :man_shrugging:

Not sure if I can post this here (admin delete it not allowed) but if anyone wants a discounted entry to Asheville or use the entry and transfer it to another Waffle Ride, let me know, I won’t be able to attend it.

The beijbel is now live!

thank you! how did you know? I didn’t receive any emails.

I didn’t either which kind of makes me not too happy with the organization of the event. Last night before wanting to go to bed I decided to check online and there it was! That kept me up for a little bit longer, checking out the route,

Its amazing how the route is so similar to the previously posted, i wonder if someone had inside info.

I didn’t had inside, just took last years route and made it fit the new location in a logical way, how I would do it. Yes, it matches what I posted.

I looked at the Bijble and they mention 40-45c tires. I only have 32c Panaracer Gravel Kings, am I in for a long day? I heard a lot of the leaders of the San Diego Waffle used 32 slicks and I wont be going that fast.

I ride all those gravel sections on 32s regularly

I’ve done Pinnacle on 32’s but hated my life, it was certainly slower…

I’m running 38 maxxis ramblers. Not the greatest road tire but should be good for the off road descents

38 Pathfinder Pros on Zipp 303s for me. Hopefully that’ll be ok

I updated the route to reflect the bijble

I ran 32 tires on a gravel race, ended up flatted out, side wall blowout. I also asked prior to using 32 if the promoter thought it could be done and he said he rode the course on 33s. If your racing to win vs racing for fun is to different things. I think making it to the end matters sometimes more then your time.
