Correct……sponsorship.
Someone on the waiting list for a Jet black Victory should be happy today….i cancelled my pre-order.
My H3 works flawlessly and the reality is that I don’t need another trainer. So while I wanted a Victory, I’m sticking with the old warhorse for now.
Does the E-Flex system move when sprinting? I mean, like walk across the floor? I absolutely love my Neo with the motion plates, but when I sprint, the whole thing moves across the floor. (I need to try locking it out for sprint workouts, but I always forget until it’s too late)
I use a yoga mat on a fake wood floor and it’s mostly stable even in my 1kw sprints. On a slick floor it would slide around though. I expect some carpet stability to vary based on the pad and weave, but likely stable there too.
Yeah, I should have mentioned I’m on a fitness mat over hardwood floor. The mat doesn’t move, the Neo does!
$$$$$$$$$$$$$
If you see a rider in the tour using them, it’s because of sponsorship $$$ pure and simple
Is this thread about the “best” indoor trainer or the best value?
I’m curious what people think is the “best” trainer $$$ be dammed
Yup.
Some pro teams (have to) use Shimano power meters despite their proven bad power numbers on the right side. Do you want to guess who sponsors them?
How about this? My uni has an older version in its sports lab, although they don’t seem to use it much. (They don’t even have a fan … it shows that they are specialized in sports other than cycling.)
The older version is probably a Velotron….still the gold standard for lab use. SRAM bought them a few years ago. There was a guy on Slowtwitch who owned 2 of them and raved about them non-stop.
Wahoo Kickr V6 with an InsideRide E-Flex Plus. Great motion system and the trainer has about the most features (WiFi, Zwift virtual shifting, axle height adjustment, Wahoo Climb compatible) available with a few shortcomings vs others (no HR pass thru, no downhill drive) and still a reasonable price. There are more expensive options out there, but none of them seem to offer enough extra for that price from my research.
I’ve owned and used both the Saris H3 and the Kickr V6. Both have been really good. And when riding the bike, I’m not certain I could make any clear distinctions between the two.
My one caution regarding Saris is where they’re at as a company. Will they keep supporting software and firmware as needed? Will they keep providing replacement parts?
For those reasons, I’ve kept my Kickr and let the Saris go.
Well, it comes with three bottle cages, so I can totally understand that guy! (I’m only half-joking, on longer endurance rides I would often need more than two bottles.)
