Bibs & Shorts Discussion 2023

I already bought a replacement (bike closet on sale!) but I thought I would check with them anyway.

For anyone in the UK, I frequently find Castelli bibs available at very steep discounts on sites like sportpursuit. I love the Castelli pads (KISS 2 Air is the top end one I think) build quality has been excellent and their entire range uses one of those two types.

When £40-£80 can get you literally anything from the range of a high end brand with excellent pad, I don’t see the point of considering budget options.

Anyone used/using the brand Tactic and your thoughts on their (bibs) product?

I am interested in Assos Mille GTO C2 bibs. I see that Competitive Cyclist currently has them for $280 after %20 off coupon, including free shipping
Is that a good price? Anyone aware of other source with a better price that ship to US?

$245 here but ships in December. Assos Mille GTO Summer Bib Shorts C2 Excel Sports | Shop Online From Boulder Colorado

Anyone previously use the RedWhite “Entry level” bib? Yuva has since discontinued it and I’ve found that the normal RW Bib has a little too much padding and makes it harder to find my sit bones, on the trainer. I’m trying to find a replacement bib for indoor riding, with not much luck.

I’ll also second the comments on durability. Granted, I’ve put a lot of miles on them, but instead of the pads wearing out, it’s the stitching around the pad that is coming undone

It’s a real shame, because the RW Entry Level bibs are by far the best fitting shorts I’ve ever had, but I’ve also never had bibs that come undone like this. I know Yuva watches threads like these, on various forums, so I wanted to reiterate that if the Entry Level still existed, I would pick up another pair in a heartbeat – for the money, they were a great value, despite the wear-and-tear issues.

I would think you could take those shorts to a tailor and have them put a new seam in the areas where it has come undone.

Is anyone able to explain or point to a chart that covers the differences in Assos bibs? I can’t seem to find something comparing the fabrics, pads, etc.

I have a pair of Assos bib I bought 10-15 ago and they’ve held up well and are still my favorite pair. So I was thinking about getting another pair from the company but am a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out which ones to try

I used this as a first time buyer and it worked pretty well: Find your Bib Short » ASSOS Of Switzerland
