Was hoping for a better BFCM sale on them… I can only order so many gifts-for-myself at xmastime before the wife breaks out the stinkeye
FWIW… sample size of 1.
Killed the following with sweat:
Jabra Pulse HR - 2 pairs, 2 pairs of
Powerbeats - 2 pairs (mine and my wife’s)
Both brands advertised them for working out.
Bought MPow wireless/bluetooth waterproof for real cheap on Amazon. They seem to be working well. Also had a waterproof pair of cheap JBLs that were working well until I lost them, but their controls were way too sensitive. Lots of accidental pauses, skips.
In another topic someone suggested headbands to deal with sweat. I got a pack of six for about 10 dollars on Amazon, one of the best investments I made for my training. They get absolutely drenched, and almost no sweat gets on the bike or in the ears.
Plus, you get to look like Lebron James or Roger Federer haha.
Highly recommend the Jabra Elite Active 65t. They are not the cheapest but offer outstanding performance for the money.
They provide a solid bluetooth connection. The sound quality is excellent. They are sweat proof.
They have great battery life at about 4 hours and then can be recharged in their case for up to 10 hours of play time.
You can use the right earphone by itself, a nice option for outdoor riding. You can also turn on an option for it to pipe outside sound in through the earphone.

Yeah, might try that. I have a nike running hat I’ll wear that holds sweat till a certain point. But after awhile, just bothers me having something in my head. Maybe the sweatband won’t.
I’m using the nano sport waterproof ear buds it gives you the superior sound quality and it is truly affordable.
Quite not happy with the Jaybird X4s due to fit. The smallest pair of ear tips included doesn’t even fit on my ears. I never had issues like this from my earphones before.
I bought a pair of Beats Powerbeats two month ago and the fit and confort are amazing. Even for a recent 3 hours endurance indoor session, I had no discomfort neither sweat in ears.
Pairing with iPhone is very easy and I like the auto pause fonction when you put them off.
They are insanely expensive tough.
Have you tried the foam tips? You squish them up, insert, and hold until they expand.
Yeah, I tried it, but then still had some issues.
Anyone have any luck with any of the over ear bluetooth offerings being tough enough to withstand sweat? I can’t seem to nail down a solid pair of BT buds for a decent price so thinking I may as well look at the larger “earmuff” style units for some improved sound and perhaps better pricing. I will only use them at home on the trainer so I don’t care about them being too bulky to wear out
I was using Sennheiser 4.5s for a while, but in all honesty over the ears feels too hot.
I’ve been using Aftershokz on my rides, and really… it’s not a problem unless there’s also a lot of wind… like 15-20 mph. Could be just me.
I have a decent headphone collection, the ones i like most on the trainer are JBL everest with active noise cancelation
+Cheap
+comfortable padding
+decent sound quality
+noise cancel totally blocks Hammer H2 noise
After workouts i leave my fan on and place them on the handlebars to dry, been using them over two years now without issues
they are shitty when there’s too much noise around you but that’s also by design.
So when i’m commuting using tranist, on the city bus, it tends to kinda suck as the engine is too loud
When the winds are super strong… the ride is gonna suck anyways but it would be nice to have music to help you push through… otherwise theyre great
Yes. I totally agree that it’s a feature, not a bug. My only complaint is that I haven’t quite figured out how to wear them… I find that my helmet straps pressing against the “jaw phones” sometimes become uncomfortable. I’m going to try wearing the aftershokz over the straps on my next ride…
These, over ear with noise cancelling.
At this price you can’t go wrong. Will last a seasons worth of training and deal well with fan and trainer noise.
i was using jaybird X3 from last 8 months but recently i upgrade and nowadays i am using Beats Solo Pro and i think this is my best choice of my entire life. i would recommend you this but keep in mind that they are quit expensive. if you can afford then go for it man !!!
Any IPX rating on them?
So i’ve decided i don’t need to wear big bulky headphone while i cycle… i’ve been researching a bunch this week… if i WERE to get some though i’d probably be looking at the backbeat fit 6100 (or 500 if i was strapped on cash)
But now i’m just gonna look for nice and cheap over ear cans… so far i’m looking at the Anker Soundcore Life Q20 (anker usually has good quality products even when cheap) but sadly there aren’t many reviews on the Life Q10 so i might just go straight for the ANC version … still below $100
or the Edifiers w830bt (90 hours of battery whaaaat!?)
i think imma stay slightly away from the mpow, taotronics stuff for now
