Anyone know if we can upgrade our existing Aspero 5 to this semi-integrated routing? Cost?

Expect the updated Aspero 5 with 12 spd Di2 GRX to come soon (probably by July, if not sooner).
This is also an hommage to the Trainspotting intro, right?
Several companies sell stems with hidden, but not internal, routing of the cables.
Deda Superbox DCR Stem
FSA NS SMR stem
I think some Bontrager stems
Ideally you would have bars that do the same, but for travel you really just need the stem to not be internally routed and have enough cable slack to move the bars after taking off the stem.
Mind blown! I figured with the D post I’d have to stay within the Cervelo ecosystem. The FSA design really looks clever as it appears you can keep cables tight/out-of-way and then take out a couple pieces of the guide track to give more slack when traveling. I would love to just leave the stem on and not deal with integrated headset, spacers, compression plug, brake calipers when traveling and just move the bars to the side. I wonder if there is enough slack to do this safely? Anyone tried this?
Is there someone who know the bar width and crankarm length on a 54cm? I’ll assume 42cm bar and 172.5mm crankarms but i would like to have it confirmed.
Thanks
Hi, did you find that out? I have the exact same question. Can’t find it anywhere. I usually run 38cm bars on my road bike and was hoping the 54 bike would maybe have 40cm bars.
That’s market research well done. They definitely know their target audience.
“with the handling skills of a shopping trolley”. I can relate to that…
Anyone have hands on the new Aspero and tried cramming fat tires into the frame? I’m curious how real-world tire clearance looks. I think it’s rated for 45s but with substantial (6mm?) clearance on all sides. How’s it look with measured 50s?
Win an Aspero from Competitive Cyclist.
Hate to get more people to enter as I did enter, but WOW that’s a fine looking bike!
The drawing ends tonight at 11:59MST tonight.
I’m too lazy to look it up, but check the Escape Collective review of it. I think they tried running larger tires or at least commented how big they think will fit. Check out the comments as well.
For what it’s worth on the OG Aspero I fit 650x50 no problem.
I’m thinking of buying the Shimano GRX 820 build (2x) but I’m worried the cable management up front with all 4 cables going through the headset might make for less than ideal angles for mechanical shifting. Is there anyone that could share a picture of the GRX 820 build showing the cable routing as I’ve yet to see any picture of that build.
Thanks!
You ever figure this out? I have the same question lol
Nope, I haven’t learned anything further. And I’ve decided my next bike will have at minimum advertised clearance of 50mm, so even if you can cram one into an Aspero I’d be looking for more room.
