Oh, did you check if resistance level 1 is actually the easiest, and not the hardest? You should be able to move the rollers by hand to check.
good points - will do so.
Yes, R1 is easiest.
Still I am most worried about the noise… with my current setup it is so loud that I can barely hear music at loudest setting on my phone
That will be the tread on your old tyres.
Also, they may not be concentric (?) , when you fit new tyres make sure they fit on the rims correctly, you can hopefully do this by eye, lining up the rim edge with the edge pattern on the tyre , hope that makes sense. But they should audibly snap into place.
Persevere, you’ll get a rewarding setup eventually
When I first got mine, the bands would occasionally get stuck in the plastic and then the rollers would not turn freely. Now I always spin the rollers by hand to make sure nothing is impeding before loading my bike. Good luck! Hope you enjoy them.
Hey guys, in a spur of a moment I sold the Rollers to a colleague. I just am not prepared to change my road and offroad proven setup of my Crosser for the indoor workout drastically. I love the versatility of my bike and like to go on roads as much as on trails in the forrest. Slicks or pure road tires would not work there.
and the noise with my current tires is just too much.
otherwise it is a great experience to ride on rollers - it is quickly manageable thanks to the moving base of the Elite Quick Motion. I was even able to ride freehanded, go out of the saddle etc already on day two.
So to anybody interested in rollers and having a road bile with slicks: go for it! great experience and definately worth a try.
Thank you all for your advise and encouragement
And we’re back…
Put the Kickr on the E-flex and get the best of both worlds. Pulling the wheels off each time you ride indoors is like 2 minutes of your time, right?
dont know - seems a bit silly to me actually. But ok.
Anyway: shipping only to US and Canada, so Europe is out I guess for now.
riding happy…that’s the main objective
It took so long. Start using Elite Quick-Motion with Garmin Vector 3 from 3 days ago. I can ride no hands. Pedaling as slow as 60~70W range also possible. Training on QM roller looks definitely doable. Wrist feels numb several times which means I still have death grip and my core muscle engagement was really poor.
Tire is continental 4000s II and pressure about 100psi. I saw @Jonathan suggested 76/78 PSI so going to experiment with it. Current setup exhibits some vibration.
FTP dropped from 217(elite volano with misuro b+) to 193. I reviewed my previous outside rides(no power data) with misuro b+ measured FTP values and now I see those previous FTP values were quite inflated. 193W looks much more realistic.
Thanks people for sharing your experience.
