Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR Pressure

If you met the guy on the street, would you buy him a beer or cup of coffee? Or do you fundamentally believe information should be free? Rhetorical questions to ask yourself.

I never said that they shouldn’t charge the market rate for their research. I just have no burning need for this information and thus no need to pay up every time a company sticks their hand out and asks for money. It has nothing to do with rhetorical questions.

Absolutely fair point, and as a counter to it, I’ve got way more than $10 worth out of the site, I’ll happily renew my access when the time comes.

I’m planning to move and get a job delivering packages to your house, in case you wonder why future shipments are experiencing delays

Does it seem like that profitable of a business opportunity?

Profit? No, I’d quickly get fired for, err, how should I say this, ā€˜safety testing’ :joy: all the shiny bling you order. You can never be too safe!

For the TT bike? If you happen to ride them this year please share your thoughts.

Sample size 1/1:
Weight: 252g at 25c
The tire feels as small as a 23c of the TL version.
Installation on a Revolver Troika Max (21c internal) was super easy and the tire was airtight even without sealant.
Measured width 25.4mm

Great that they measure a bit smaller… the 25mm TL was pushing up against the width of my campy WTO wheels - these should respect the 105% rule hopefully.

I’d like to see the numbers for larger tyre sizes on wide rims in their tests also. I will be putting mine, which arrived today, on my Enve SES AR 4.5 rims. I’ve waited 2 years for this.

Let us know how easy they mount (or not).

What do you think of the 4.5 ARs on the road?

Although I wasn’t asked… the ENVE AR were a revelation when they came out, but are too expensive and too heavy in today’s market (my opinion).
Mine are set up with CK Ceramic hubs and weigh almost 1600g with tape and valves…
ZIPPā€˜s 303s weigh less, and yes, they have much lower quality hubs, but for a similar depth cost 1/3rd.

I’m bigger person and find wider tires better for several reasons. Prefer tubeless and AirLiner insert versus tubes. I can sell my Enve 5.6 and a few other things and buy Roval Rapide CLX or … and put them on my Tarmac SL7. Your thoughts?

GP 5000 S TR have arrived at Aerocoach and results will be published in the coming days.

I like them for the poor road surfaces around here. It’s a more comfortable ride than my 404s on my other bike (can’t swap due to differences in drivetrain and braking system). I get the additional comfort of a wider effective tyre which allows me to run a lower pressure. I normally run about 60psi (with 28s), when I tried lower pressures I didn’t like the way it felt on bumpy surfaces, it felt like there wasn’t enough damping.

I did a ride back in 2019 which had a load of gravel (and some very rough stuff). They handled it very well.

Hoping to get the tyres fitted this evening. Weather looks rubbish for a few days but they should be ready for trying out properly at the weekend.

Just fitted. Went on with bare hands, no warming of the tyres. Inflated with track pump, no Airshot needed. Now to add sealant and wait for the weather to improve.

Aerocoach says, they improved a tiny little bit.

Thanks for all the info/post. I have hooked rims so for now I’m staying with the TL’s just for added puncture protection. If I end up hookless the S TR would top my list.
