It gets earlier every year….it is all about locking up a consumers “open to buy”. Everyone only has so much to spend every year….so if you have an earlier sale, you stand a better chance of getting some of their allotted budget.
If you now wait for a “traditional” BF, there is an ever-in reading chance that you are gonna be shut out.
Look at all the bike clothes company fighting each other right now…we all only need so many winter jackets, bibs, etc. Once you have what you need, it doesn’t matter if the next brand has a screaming deal….you just don’t need it at that point.

This is so true! I have a set of Enve AG25 that I really haven’t put through their paces yet and am still tempted by the We Are One Composites 35% off. I have a thing for wheels, apparently …

I’ve got a new mtb that ‘needs’ some new wheels. Those WAO wheels are tempting me!
They have found out that if you spend early there is a better chance you will spend again before Christmas.

I’m trying hard to listen to the folks who are rallying against rampant consumerism in the cycling industry. I WANT so many things, but the truth is I almost never NEED any of it, and I have bikes and components sitting in my garage that I’ve been swearing I will sell at any minute for the last 2 years. I’m seriously contemplating just selling it all to Pros Closet or on eBay fire sale just to get it out of my house and be done with it.

I’m in the same boat. I have 2, maybe 3 bikes I need to get out of my garage. I’m going to try to sell them for a month on marketplace and if they don’t go, see if TPC will take them off my hands.
Anyway, back to the sales! I clearly need more bike equipment!
