It’s better to start from the higher number. I’d leave it at the 154, unless you think it’s WAY higher than that, in which case, I would just update my FTP manually prior to the test. It has to have a starting point.
If you have a Garmin computer you can install their Xert FTP estimation app and it will give you FTP estimates based on whatever type of all out effort you do. I get FTP estimates from my Garmin, AI FTPdetection and the ramp test. They all tend to be +/- 5 watts so it kind of takes the guesswork out of new testing methods to see very similar numbers. If one is off, you have a better starting point for figuring out what is wrong.

Try to ride at 200w. If you last more than a few minute you will know your ftp is more than 154.
