That’s a great idea. Maybe this thread: https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/official-pay-it-forward-equipment-thread/33357
Assioma Duo replacement bearings:
- 686 ZZ or 2RS 6×13x5 - 2 pieces
- 61700 ZZ or 2RS 10x15×4 - 4 pieces
Replacement durarion: 20 minutes (including drinking a beer).
Warning: Check Assioma service guide where to apply the grease and where not as this is a bit different from what you may think.
Best regards
If you’re not bothered about replacing the oil washers and end caps, I’ve asked the guys at Airevelo to put a replacement bearing package together. They’re good guys to deal with and ship out very quickly.
Unclipping problem I’ve had my Assiamos since 2019, and they’ve been bulletproof, but now the left pedal won’t stay clipped in unless I exert constant outward pressure with my shoes. The inner spring clip will unclip during normal road riding. If I apply outward pressure, it will clip back in, but I have to repeatedly keep doing it. I’ve adjusted the tension but still have the problem. I’ve examined the springs and pedal lip for unusual wear of cracks, but both appear normal to the eye. It’s not a problem only when using the pedals on my Kickr recently; I was able to ride for 2 hours without this problem. I’d guess the lack of lateral forces on the trainer is the reason why.
Just wondering if anybody else has had the problem? So far Favero can’t provide any guidance or help. Thanks.
Nope. I’d be checking the cleats or replacing them.
Thanks. Brand new cleats (gray) and same issue with another pair of shoes with black cleat version.
My best guess is the right spring must be weakened somehow. I used to have a problem clipping in left with old cleats. Multiple attempts maybe caused uneven wear on the side on which I put more pressure over 3 years?
Hmmm… The pedal bodies aren’t all that expensive. That’d the next thing to swap out.
If you were in AU I’d send you a spare set I have from my SPD hack set. Maybe someone has a pair they’re not using from that hack.
Look cleats? If so I`d try swapping for Favero original cleats.
Imo Look are not a good match.
Not saying this is your problem but I had a similar issue when I used EXUSTAR cleats (these are the standard cleats for Garmin Pedals also). I could not get into the pedals and then they would get stuck or unclip easy.
I fixed the issue by moving to Favero specific (from their website) cleats or Authentic Look (gray) cleats.
When you look at the cleats you can tell a clear difference on the shoulder heights of them.
Favero Cleat
Genuine Look Cleat
Exustar (these are common on amazon and ebay btw)
Here are both pairs of shoes I’ve used. The gray are new Look grip cleats. I just received an email from Favero indicating that Look Grip cleats are incompatible, but I’ve seen multiple users online saying they are. The second pair are non-grip (a Look knockoff if I recall) normally used on my Kickr with Look (not Assiamo) pedals. But I had same unclipping issue on my road bike when I tried those.
I will probably buy new Favero cleats to see if that solves it.
I have an extra right Favero pedal because I originally purchased the Uno and later upgraded to the Duo. Would it make sense to change the right spring since that’s where the problem seems to be? Would it be difficult to do so?
Not any clues there are there. Facing straight ahead and no funny wear.
I use keo grip and have no issues.
You’ve made no other alterations to the bike have you, saddle height, pedal washers etc?
Hi, I saw your post and wondered if the pedal bodies are still available? As I describe in my later posts in this thread, my left pedal keeps unclipping on one side. I haven’t been able to diagnose problem so far, even with help of Favero and GPLama. GPLama suggested replacing the pedal body. I’d gladly pay shipping-related costs. Thanks!
I couldn’t get grip cleats to work, but normal keo work
Unfortunately, I don’t anymore. Already shipped them off to someone in need.
Good luck! Maybe it’s time to turn the spindles into mtb pedals.
May have missed where you’re located, but I believe I have my left pedal body lying around from when I converted to SPD using the Xpedo hack. If so (I’ll check when I get home tonight), you can have it for cost of shipping. I don’t need it, as I use SPDs on my road bike anyhow as someone who primarily rides MTB and doesn’t have any road shoes. I’m in the US.
Great! Thanks so much! I’m in the US - Alabama. My email is davidwms@icloud.com if you’d like to write me there and we can work out details if you still have it.
Hi guys,
Happy user of Favero Uno here, for perhaps 3 years now, with two questions:
Doing my outside TR trainings I noticed that recently the power goes crazy at times - on the Edge 530 and custom TR training screen it jumps eg from 270 to 250 and then back to 270 within a second or two without any significant change in pedaling. Not sure, but I believe it may coincident with adding Varia RTL515 to the bike recently, that means yet another sensor (others are Di2 and optical HR Polar sensor). I was thinking it may be dropouts (all the more Varia tends to disconnect once a while) but I don’t see anything suspicious on power or torque in intervals.icu. Does anyone experience anything like this? Any fix for that?
And another question: I was thinking recently to upgrade to Duo, not because I desperately want to know my leg imbalances but I noticed I tend to overuse my left leg (the one where the Uno measures) on the harder intervals, where i want stay at given power average. My thinking is that with Duo I will be pushing more equally, but maybe you have any tips how to fix that without upgrading the pedals?
Unless you have some solid smoothing on, power should be jumping a min of 20w for all rides, if not more
