Glasses Wearers: How to keep sweat off glasses indoors?

Doesn’t work for me. My contacts dry out.

Is that fan stable up there? :scream::scream::scream:

Yup. It’s sitting on a a large wooden base that sits under the screen. I did a custom deck and foot size top and bottom, with retention screws in the slotted table. The stand weighs around 10 lbs on it’s own, so I don’t think it’s going anywhere. I may actually strap it all down, but it’s quite solid with pure gravity and overlapping slots at this point.

This is all part of my CHOP (Chad’s House Of Pain) rebuild 2.0 process. I am redoing nearly everything in the room with better build process and material. I have to finish the front fan stand and a revised window duct, but I am almost done.

WOW! What a setup. Get a fan why dontcha?

I see where you say this setup doesn’t dry your contacts though. Do you get any direct air in the face at all?

LOL, I take cooling VERY seriously :stuck_out_tongue:

It pushes a bit in my eyes if I am upright, but in a normal position, it hits the top of my head most, and glances past my face. So that front fan doesn’t hit my eyes usually. Then the front-side fan is aimed at my chest.

My preferred setup is:

  • Bigger Vornado aimed at chest
  • Smaller Vornado aimed at back of head

Works well with no glasses. If the garage is above 85F / 30C then I’ll add a Lasko to the front, again pointed at body and not face. During hard intervals I used the towel every 1-2 minutes. Two towels and one is soaked by the end.

I find that a short brimmed cycling cap wicks the sweat onto and off the end of the brim where it falls off in front of my face instead of on my glasses.

An old school cycling cap is a fantastic lost technology.

5 fans, a ceiling fan, a HeadSweats ‘beanie’, and a towel. Yeah, the towel often ends up soaked, and I do get rivers running and dripping off my frames, but it works really rather well, usually. I tried a Halo, but always ended up with the tsunami over the damn, especially if I looked down. I also find that if I use the towel to wipe off my entire head when I do my forehead, it really helps keep the sweat at bay longer. I have saturated those Tacx towels on a ride before. I sweat ‘quite a bit’. It’s manageable…
