Gravel gearing question

Should work fine, although you might want to consider GX 10 speed for the clutch mech option

thanks!

I’m a Campy guy too, I also have a CX bike I’m riding gravel on, and I’m also in Austin. Im on the other end of the spectrum size wise from you, but not far off power wise. I had hip surgery with a really long recovery two years ago.

I’m riding 46/36 with a 34T rear right now with very few concerns. Since coming back, I’ve not had a lot of interest in really long road rides, mostly I’ve been riding the CX bike on singletrack and gravel, and even in our punchy hills here, I find the gearing adequate. I have struggled with the shifting on my Shimano CX bike though as I often upshift when I mean to downshift thanks to 20 years of Campy.

This. The 10sp GX long-cage derailleur is super solid and works extremely well.

Dave: we are in the same boat. I had extensive knee surgery 6 weeks ago, with about a 100w drop in FTP. Looking forward to gravel as a way to rehab and curb my running urges. Signed up for the Hill Country Hundy in Llano as my first grinder. Try going from Campy to Sram with it’s one lever for up/down silliness. May have to switch drive trains entirely
