Group Workout Room Code Sharing

I do happen to be on a recovery week this week. I’d be up for a social Pettit.

Dumb question, but how does one set the code to work at a specific time? Just seems that the code is generated and then you proceed to workout, is it just that everyone is leaving their app open until ride time?

That’s what I just did. Mine’s currently running, even though the workout doesn’t start for another 40 min or so

I was confused as well. You set your date for tomorrow!

Fixed now. Thanks!

@hubcyclist Once a code is generated, it lasts forever, so no need to keep the app open. You can create a Group Workout now, get the code and then use it anytime in the future: tomorrow, next week, or next month. The workout will still be the same that you selected. You can even reuse codes.

For example: If I wanted to have a weekly Baxter ride with some friends- I can create the Group Workout now, and then reuse that code over and over each week without having to get a new code each week.

Is that in the documentation anywhere? That’s really neat.

Who can initiate a group workout using the code, then? Just the person who created it? Or anyone?

What time zone are you in? i.e. when is too early?

@jpowers It’s not in the documentation, but we’ll have that in a blog post on Wednesday! The first person in the workout will be the host and can initiate the workout. So anyone that has the code and then gets in the room first can start it.

Just about to jump on and test this out. I’m doing Volunteer, so 30 mins easy. The code is: e4aaj3. I’ll give it about 15 mins and then start if no one else is able to join.

Just farmed for memorable pettit codes.

Will be up most mornings doing fan-less fasted rides if anyone is interested: Time Zone Converter – Time Difference Calculator

I cannot BELIEVE I did rockhouse the night before this came out
I’d be down for an easy one, though!

Yeah, that could work. Might be nice to have it sort easily by date and maybe time too.

We can try it in top of this thread and make adjustments as we go forward.

This is screamingly for some of the hitters on here to group workout for disaster day and livestream it.

I’m doing D-2 this Saturday (9am MDT), and we will surely be making some dates for the big one as well.

One of the biggest hitters here keeps bugging us for setting it up to take on the beast, hint… hint. :stuck_out_tongue:

As above, now with code.

Goddard (week 2 ride 1 SSB low volume block 1).

UK 7:30

Code 8xykg7

@mcneese.chad Hey Chad, old buddy, old pal…

I see this thread getting massive, like a Snoop Dogg blunt, over a very short time which would mean finding a ride would get more exhaustive than actually doing the ride. Might a fellow make a small suggestion?

Could you open up several threads based on geographical location? Zwift is bad enough for those of us running 12-hours ahead of GMT with most group rides kicking off near midnight down here. Could you have a thread for America West, America Central, America East, Europe (based on GMT), Asia (GMT +6), and ANZAC GMT +12 (Aussie / NZ). It would sort out the clutter a lot that this thread is going to end up as…

Just my 10-cents…

That last one isn’t a bad idea as it’s already getting a bit excited to track all of these events. Anyway, this is super cool, I hope I can ride with someone this week. Jepson upcoming in a few days

Any Kiwi’s or Aussies want to do a 30 to 1 hour test? Pettit or Volunteer, I am starting recovery week, probably in the next 15 to 30 mins? UPDATE, probably just 30 min Volunteer, here is the code: g62wft Starting in 15
