work on your core muscles a lot (3-5x/week); use an exercise ball/Swiss ball and do balance exercises on it - kneel on hands and knees, sit upright on knee (like riding no-hands), do it side by side w/ a training buddy and try to knock ea other off/elbow each other. squats on a BOSU ball, flip it over and do single leg balance drills. lots of ways to engage your proprioception w/o being on the bike. And…rollers (my answer to everything on the forum). Elite Quick Motion rollers fold into about a 2 sq foot footprint

Still do my 4 mile one way commute all winter. Spend some time on a balance board. Rollers.
None of which add one iota to mtb skills though. I generally just suck for a week when I hit the trails in the spring.
