Incorporating weekly races

Hi, I’m new to TrainerRoad and structured training in general and so far it’s working out really well.

However, I would like to incorporate 1 weekly Zwift race into my calendar but I am not sure what is the best way to do so without negatively affecting my training.

I am about to start SSB Low Volume 2, and from my understanding it’s a bad idea to do heavy work on an off-day, so I guess I should replace one of the 3 workouts, but which one?

I’ve been doing similar, just replacing the first workout of the week with the Zwift race, then doing the longer 90min and 60 min other 2 sessions.

I would replace the workout that most closely mimics the race you’re doing

Glad to hear! Hard to tell of course, but have you felt that it has had any negative effect on your training?

That makes sense, I will have to learn how to identify that.
