Let’s see some Tri/TT rigs

Thanks for the compliment

Mine is actually a “non-standard issue” as I had the paint stripped and the raw carbon clear-coated. I am really happy with the result as the carbon layup was nice enough to put on display.

Just got my custom spares box for the Shiv TT and it is quite an awesome solution. Fits perfectly into the frame and perfectly with the Elite bottles.
It was 3D printed by a small German company.

Could you let me know the name of the company please? I’m looking for something similar for my E119.

They offer that, too:

That’s how it looks in full (training set up, that’s why things look a bit wild).

Brilliant, thanks. Have asked if they’ll make one for my XL frame.

What’s the best rear seat bottle set up for an Argon18 E-118 (2014) that isn’t outlandishly expensive?

Everytime I see a cage it turns out I need to buy three other things with it to actually attach it to the bike and make it usable.

Zip ties.

Seriously, the most aero and the cheapest. Spend the money on an xlab gorilla and save the rest

If you need more than that your stuck with aftermarket stuff.

How do you like that Wattshop cockpit? I’m debating between that and the Aerocoach one for my Speed Concept. Both are a pain because of the SC front end, but I’m starting to lean towards the WS setup because of the hand position.

To the rails of the seat?

Yup…you can play with the angle to some degree, depending on where you zip tie the cage to the rails. Was my default method for putting a cage on my saddle for years.

Yup. Just tie the cage with the zips to the rails and you are done. I use 4 usually

For anything 70.3 or less, thats what I did for years

I‘d bet that they are both good choices. For me, the Wattshop cockpit is a very good solution, although adjustability is a little limited (compared to most stock cockpits I know). Therefore, it is best to have your position dialed in in advance.
The build quality is top notch.

Thanks. Good point on the position. I’m still dialing mine in and that’s a big reason for the hesitation I’ve had.

Yup, and just make sure when you tighten them down they’re good and “square” against the saddle rails. I’ve seen folks tighten them at pretty odd angles and they slip from road vibrations or yanking the bottle in/ out, causing the cage to flop around or bottle to fall out. Just give it a few good tugs in all directions before you take it out on the road.

Hi Joe,
Ive tried the cable ties, saddle with rear bottle mount (fabric tri), rear hydration brackets and came to the conclusion they all work differently on different saddle, saddle position on rails, mounting bracket, seatpost shape combinations. I finally used the below Xlab compatibility chart and got the turbo wing. I wanted something minimalist like the 105 mini wing but it wouldnt work with my ISM saddle (probably)

Happy with that in the end I have two bottles and the spares in between. Its not the most beautiful setup but with that +bta and aero bottle with liquid nutrition on the down tube i can get around almost every 70.3 course with no need for aid station. Would love tool storage like @Aeroiseverything has but they dont have my bike and frame size combo.

Finally, i got the Profile design kage cages which are super cheap and have been bomb proof for me. No bottles flying off the back even on our UK roads

Just rode this in my first completed tri in 7 years. It’s fast! Glad I hit up TR this winter. These black HED Jet wheels are amazing. I have no desire or need for a disc brake bike. If you are in need of a TT or Tri bike, get one of these and go with the HEDs.
All in, I paid under $4k for this bad boy!

And yes, I did remove the bottle cage and ran a BTA.

It’s cool to finally learn why I am having issues using the super wing on the ism saddle on the new bike… :man_facepalming:
