Let's see your paincave!

This thread is just as much about pain cave display, as it is pain cave ideas. I thought I’d share some extra photos of mine highlighting some details that I have found worthwhile since my training space has evolved from a dorm stairwell to what I have today.

The window in front of the bike is usually opened a crack to allow fresh air inside. The wife appreciates this, and in the winter, the cold air is awesomeness.

The couch/futon replaced a smith machine. Instead of the smith machine, I have dumbbells, and a TRX thingy that connects to the hook in the ceiling. Futon is nice for napping, when escaping drama of teenagers. Wall magazine rack holds outdated issues of Triathlete and bicycling magazine. Since I can never bring myself to throw them away…

Bike rack for the trusty ‘87 Cannondale SR500. Holds two bikes, and also functions as a drying rack for Lycra, tech shirts/shorts, and head/wrist sweatbands.

Gotta have someplace nearby for your tools. The charging station on this Kobalt workbench is nice to have. Keep iPhones, iPads, iPods, Bluetooth headphones charged. Also keep your electronics away from teenagers.

Turntable and receiver hooked up to large ‘90’s era tower speakers that wife always wanted me to get rid of. When she and the kids are gone, it’s nice to crank them, while on the trainer. Doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s majestic. Our kids only know music through headphones. Poor babies.

Adequate storage for towels, DVD’s, headphones, ANT+ adaptors, gels, figs, dates. Also, have access to streaming services, DVDs, and regular cable. Wish list includes Lasko fans, remotes for said fans, and a better table for remotes, snacks next to the bike.
