The podcast is now an abundance of riches. It’s great to have the variety but Nate is relatable to a lot of us. I have really enjoyed Amber being on since she joined the regular crew and add some important new perspectives. Pete brings an infectious enthusiasm. Now, we can Ivy to mix as well. It was great to see her in person after seeming her posts in the forum.
I am sure that I am not alone in saying that I think I get my monthly subscription value in the podcast before even considering the app.
Everyone brings something different and valuable to the group. Nate and Pete definitely help lighten the mood and keep things entertaining. Makes it a lot easier to work your way through the podcast that’s always full of great info no matter who’s involved. Heal up and hurry back, Nate!
It just comes down to perspectives and each of the coaches brings a different perspective. If we, the listeners, are honest with ourselves then we probably see a little of each of the podcasters in ourselves.
Nate: The Everyman, The Wannabe (not in a bad way), The I’ll Try Anything Once
Johnathan: Calculated and strategic approach, juggling the family
Amber: Been There, Did That, Was it worth it? What did I learn?
Chad: I like Bikes, I like Fast, but bikes/fast aren’t always my #1 and thats OK
Pete: Fast & Fun, more humble than he should be
Well, first and foremost, @Nate_Pearson should attend to his health!
But after that he should get back on the podcast, for sure! Nate brings raw, infectious, passion for cycling to the podcast that nobody else does. He’s got just the right mix of enthusiasm & competitiveness that is at once impressive but at the same time maybe just within reach of us regular riders.
I’ve not much to add other than I also miss Nate on the podcast. I like the race stories, banter and tangential side discussions. Nate is the Jeremy Clarkson of the podcast
Not so much him being “the same”, but more the role they play.
I know Clarkson is an a$$ and I don’t love everything about him, but from an impact point of view, I see his place as most similar to Nate’s when looking at each triangle of interaction within each group.
I hate Clarkson, he writes for the Sun, he’s an open racist and bully and Nate is someone I really respect so the comparison rubbed me up the wrong way but I will leave it at that.
For me Nate is the everyman and he say’s a lot of the things that the rest of us are thinking.
Not comparing them in terms of personal qualities (though I think people are a bit hard on Clarkson), but in their similar roles in a presenting/hosting trio. Nate is probably the better human specimen lol.
I think it’s obvious by now, but it feels good to throw in my “I agree”. As much as I pay for this platform to get faster, I watch the podcasts for more than just getting fast. Don’t just throw info at me. Show me who you are as people as Nate has done, and include some antics. It was hard yet enjoyable to see Jonathan shave his head. The group FTP tests and trash talk were epic. I can’t wait for racing to come back and I hope we get to see either some strong teamwork efforts, or some team trash talking, mixed into the very valuable information that you guys love to bring us on the podcasts.
