New Dock Pro bed cooling from Chilipad / Ooler creators

hadn’t seen your post here until just now. they made some changes to the wifi recently. i had to get one replacement unit and it was held up by the change.

mine don’t seem to use water any faster than the ooler. noise is similar too. high pitch whining sounds terrible. thankfully neither of our dock pros do that or i’d return them too.

Have had a Dock Pro for a few weeks now and have had many of the issues described in the thread, biggest one being the Wifi connectivity issue. I was about a day away from returning it when that finally seems to be better after I moved one of my mesh routers to literally be next to it, but it’s really unacceptable how bad the Wifi seems to be in it.

Other than that, it’s semi-annoying how frequently it needs water as others have suggested, and a really annoying thing I hadn’t heard mentioned is that the time zone did not set based on my phone as expected and kept defaulting to New York for some reason. So that was real fun for me when it heated my bed for wake up time at 3am instead of 5.

Kind of wish I would have got an eight sleep instead but my wife didn’t want me messing with her half of the bed so I figured the Dock “Me” system was worth a try despite the issues. Now that I’ve worked out the kinks I think I’ll keep it, but not a slam dunk product.

On a closing note - turns out I don’t want my bed nearly as cold as I thought I would. It has taken me a lot longer than I expected to find the right temperature to not wake up feeling frozen at one point.

Probably getting an 8 sleep at some point for my bed and my daughters. GA summer is almost over for the highs and been away for most of it so this black Friday will see if any deals are there.

yeah I hear some numbers suggested that just leave me shivering in the middle of the night when I first started.

And now eight has a pod 3

I ordered a Dock Pro 2 weeks ago and it still hasn’t shipped. Kind of frustrating since it’s been over 100F every day for the past month.

A bit pricey, but I’d definitely consider the pod 3 if my ooler ever breaks and my oura ring dies. Or if my wife decides she wants it. I’m happy with my ooler, but it could be better and the dock pro doesn’t seem to be it.

The $15 per month for the auto temperature piece seems like a bit much to me. That would seem to me to be the best feature if it works, but a subscription isn’t what I’m looking for.

I’m passing 60 nights on the Eight Sleep. I made the mistake of ‘experimenting’ by turning it off one night. My sleep scores (auto sleep) plummeted. During what little training I’ve been able to squeeze in the pad has really helped with recovery sleep and kept me from waking up with oven-like legs.

I love the Dock Pro. Total game changer for me, and that’s coming from Ooler. Weird there are so many problems.

Of course, we had a replace a leaky unit and that took a long time.

$15 a month and is it optional? I looked but did not see it. It is is not optional them yeah no. I can put an old school timer that goes and off. Lol

yes, it’s optional. There are 3 features you get if you subscribe, auto temperature sensing, sleep content, and some advanced analytics. I’m assuming you will get the remote control, temperature scheduling, and basic sleep stats for buying the device.

Thanks and to me I am good with just the pad. Will wait for black Friday. Appreciate it.

for the eight sleep subscription the differences are:

Seems like the eight sleep is better but also much more expensive, especially if you add the $15/month subscription (why do they advertise the pod 3 as having a quad core cpu? What are they needing that much processing for?)

Remember when the dockpro came out there was a sleep tracker part of the system that was coming out in march but hasn’t come out yet? Think I’ll wait for this to save money

I use my Garmin watch and still plan to continue to use it for sleep tracking. For me it works great and I get what I need but I realize some people it does not work. I also keep my subs to a minimum for sure.

the sleep tracking part of the bed cooler for me is to adjust the bed temp during sleep to better optimize sleep. For example:

Ok that makes more sense then.

Followup: I returned my Dockpro after a leak and 12 days between my complaint to the company and their response. They eventually refunded me in total and paid return shipping. I will continue to use my Ooler for now.

My comparison: Ooler is good if the bedroom has good air temp control. Dockpro (or possibly eight sleep) if trying to overcome less than ideal bedroom temp. For me 70F bedroom temp with Ooler. 72F bedroom with Dockpro. I never explored how warm I could make the bedroom with dockpro. But clearly I could go warmer than with Ooler.

I have a thermostat in my bedroom and a variable speed AC that maintains a very precise temp. Before I did an equipment upgrade I found my bedroom temp fluctuated 6F. Anyone with AC that experiences being both hot and cold at night might want to investigate thermostats that have a remote sensor option. Also, A quality inverter window AC may be a better purchase than a dockpro. Even in a home with central AC. All the sleep studies I have seen are based on air temp, not refrigerated mattress pads. That said, I really like my Ooler. I wish the dockpro was better made, and that sleep.me was capable of running a professional retail business.

same. they told me it will ship on the 29th
or that might have been when their container shows up

For the non-morning people like myself.
Do you think heating up the bed for some time duration before your intended wake time can help?

it definitely woke me up and made me want to get out of bed. I get up without an alarm most days so I didn’t particularly like it, but it was effective.
