Hello,
I wonder why TR is able to say this activity looks like treshold 4.5 but doesn’t increase the levels? Thanks
Hello,

It looks like this could be a bug.
I’m digging into this now!
Thank you @Caro.Gomez-Villafane!
That all makes sense. I’ll have a think about whether to go the LV or MV route. I may even try both and see what works best for me!
Sounds good!
This is a great feature. For years I have been doing 2 group rides per week and running the low volume plan around these. It’s definitely felt mismatched.
Now I can go to a mid/high volume plan depending on my time and TR fits my workouts around the group rides as part of the plan.
One thing I would like to see from the TR team. It’s pretty common when weather is bad for the group rides to be cancelled, i.e. no one turns up, having a simple way to convert the group ride into an appropriate workout on these days would be ideal (I know you can flip the whole block).
Great feature!
Would a sweet spot workout be considered as a workout that drives fitness adaptations?
I’ve been following a masters MV plan and was doing the prescribed 2 hard workouts indoors during the week along with a couple of 1 hour endurance rides, doing a spirited club ride on a Saturday and usually skipping the 2 hour endurance ride which I had scheduled on Sunday.
In light of this new feature I’ve just started a new regular MV plan and set the 90 minute hard ride to be the Saturday group ride, my logic being that’s it’s usually (but not always) a pretty spirited 200+ TSS ride that would include near threshold and above efforts. This will replace the threshold workout and will be the case through the base, build and speciality phases. The first part of the base phase will have me doing 2 sweet spot workouts a week moving to VO2 and sweet spot later down the line.
Just wondered if not doing a ‘proper’ structured threshold workout at any point is going to be a problem? Perhaps better to do the threshold workout indoors and the sweet spot as the group ride? Another consideration being the group rides aren’t always a smash fest, they can be more of a tempo ride.
Also not sure whether to stick with the masters MV plan, do the 2 hard workout indoors and set the 2 hour endurance ride to be the group ride.
Great to have so many options but as you can tell I’m getting a little bogged down on the best path to choose
Open to suggestions!
Hi! Thanks in advanced for support.
Is possible push solo or group ride to Garmin Calendar?
Thanks so much
Cheers.
Corrado.
Yes! For now, I have to manually associate.
Thank’you!
Great feature!
Two questions:
1: Do the new Group and Solo rides integrate with adaptive training?
2: If I do a relatively structured outdoor group or solo ride, like a long training ride in z2, how do I label it - is a Solo or Group ride or an Outdoor TR ride?
This is primarily about Plan Builder.
Are you using plan builder to organise your week?
Feature request: do not limit solo/group rides duration to 5h. I’d like to use those days for 8-12h rides instead. I.e. I do not train for event but those long days are my goal in itself.
And side request: when scheduling individual blocks separately (as opposed to Plan Builder), it would be nice if daily time allocations could be also configurable.
Yes I am. My outdoor rides are either long endurance z2 or a mix of endurance and climbs, either solo or group. Which option do I select in TR so it integrates into my training plan?
When you set up the plan in plan builder, or reset it up, there’s a drop down now to select solo or group ride for each workout
Yes I get that, thank you. What i want to know is when the difference between solo, group and “outdoor TR” ride. If I do a long solo endurance ride, is that a Solo ride or an outdoor TR ride?
I would say that would depend on what you are doing on that ride…
Outdoor TR ride = structured ride following a TR outdoor workout
Solo ride = unstructed ride ie. not following any planned intervals
My interpretation, at least…
Indeed and the plan will show whether that solo or group ride should be an easy or hard one.
I would love to see this feature integrated with ‘Workout Alternates.’ My go to plan for the season is to follow structure 90% of the time. However, the odd team ride will come up on weekends that I will take part in. In that case, I could open up the planned workout and chose ‘Hard Group Ride’ under ‘Workout Alternates’ and from there, adaptive training does its thing.
I’ll pass this onto the team for future consideration! Thanks for the feedback
