Question about low volume plans

agreed and I think the OP needs to put this in the context of goals. I read that he did not want to lose fitness. He did say he wanted to get stronger, but how much stronger. If it’s 1 watt that’s one thing, if it’s 25 watts, that’s another. I think I can safely say he will not lose, he will gain if he is of the level of fitness I have imagined and he sticks to the plan. It may not be 25 watts, but it won’t be losing. I consider myself to be slightly above average seasoning. I started at 250 watts in November and am about to finish build. Currently 262 with a ramp test coming next week. 12-15 watts feels like a lot to me given my circumstances and I’m pretty happy with it.

I have done SSB 1 and 2 and then moved to Century. I too train indoor 3 times a week and do about 30 miles outdoors at the weekend. I just did my first Gran Fondo since using Trainerroad. I have done them before. I wrote this post about my experience. You will be fine

First Trainerroad Gran Fondo

I started with a FTP of 224 three month ago, doing only low volume with 3,5h a week (coming from riding 1,5-2 hours per week in winter outside). I am now at a FTP of 256 - still only doing low volume. Having three kids below age 5 and a job that I love (=working long) there is not much time for more training (without losing my wife ;-))

I never imagined that I could start loving indoor training, but that’s what happened - love the fact that I can ride my bike when the rest of the family is still asleep / already sleeping. Love it that I can actually watch Netflix and improve my cycling at the same time. I love it that I see constant improvements. And all that with only 3,5 hours a week!
