Well said.

I had my bivalent booster in October or so. Since then, I’ve been hearing a voice that sounds like it might be George Soros or Bill Gates. But I feel strong, strong like a bull. I push on the pedals and it’s like there’s no chain on the bike.

Anyway, I’m at 383km today. A bit of a saddle sore, but I was using some worn bibs. Going to see if I can hit 500 tomorrow.

Didn’t Zwift bring back the “Join Another Rider” feature? Since you asked about how to cleverly add distance, try starting your ride by joining a rider that’s at the top of Ventoux.

yup

This is a huge challenge for me. I’ve only started endurance riding a month of so ago and i barely touch 5 hrs a week.

I signed up anyway with the goal of doing as much as i can and seeing where i end up.

its all on rollers and so far managed 3hrs, 2.5hrs and 2 hrs. My previous longest rides were 90 mins lol.
Had a day off today to lift weights but will try for a bit push over the next 2 days. Im only at 175km so still a way off. My z2 is so low its taking ages.

You guys are impressive.

3 hours on rollers?? Are you a madman. That is impressive concentration.

I went out in 15 degree weather on the 24th with the intent of 100 miles, but stopped at 100km. I got rid of my winter booties thinking I’d never be so silly as to ride in sub 40 weather again ever in my life, but the plastic bags on my feet only went so far to insulation. Since then, I did the PRL full over two days, my Zwift expired, and the weather has gotten a lot better!

I’ve been playing with intensity during the challenge.
24 Dec, 100km freeze fest
25 Dec, 115km on Zwift (first part of PRL)
26 Dec, lower volume (finished PRL full) and a shorter ride in the PM
27 Dec, did “Audrain” VO2 (30 min workout) followed with the gym in the morning. 1hr PM ride
28 Dec, 37 miles high Z2 / Low Z3 outdoors. Yoga session PM
Tomorrow, with a little less than 40 miles left, going to do an over/under threshold session and some Z2 until I hit distance.

Team mate did a solo run in Tucson on the 26th. 14 h 16 min something like 550 tss and 11,500kj’s. Nuts.

It’s all I can do. With the wife at work long hours and the kids off school (fortunately me off work too) I have to do it where I can keep an eye on them.

I put on Netflix, or a cycling podcast, play with cadence, it helps. I just think about the gains haha.

I don’t think I’ll make the 500 but I’ll get a solid week in, set a benchmark.

I’m not prepared for outdoors in this weather anywhere. I only rode track this year so I’m all bibs and jersey.

Well done to anyone that has or will complete the 500 this week.

Just finished with Gould +2 outdoors. Was a lot of KJs. One in a couple hundred thousand to win that OPEN U.P giveaway!

Might as well go buy a mega millions ticket too.

Impressive. Was that Elapsed or moving time?

Just rolled my last few kms with a day to spare. Here’s a few notes/stats/observations:

  • All done on the road bike this year. Giant TCR Disc (2019) upgraded with Shimano Di2 8170. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
  • No indoor rides.
  • No group rides (130kms with Mrs Lama over Xmas/Boxing Day)
  • No days over 100km.
  • Lowest temp: 12℃
  • Highest temp: 41℃
  • Average speed: 30.1km/h. (502.9 km in 16h 42m)
  • Elevation gain: 2869m (I kept away from the hills).
  • Garmin Edge 1040 Solar still has 77% battery remaining (started with 100%). This is frickin’ brilliant! It would have been even better if the sun was out yesterday for that 3hr ride.
  • Garmin Edge 1030 Plus has 46% battery (I had the map always displayed on this, that uses more battery)
  • Punctures: 0. (GP5000 S TR 28mm tubeless. I’m loving these tyres)
  • Washed away bridge crossings: 1
  • Snakes: 0
  • Kangaroos: 1
  • Emus: 1. Dead.

Was a good year for it here and always a challenge to juggle ride time with travel/family commitments.

Indoors, outdoors, cold, hot, whatever - This challenge gets people riding bikes and that’s what it’s all about. :bike::ok_hand:t3:.

All the best to anyone cramming in the last few rides to get over the line! :facepunch:t3:

Not sure how to get the fancy metrics like weighted averages everyone else has. 200ks were on zwift (PRL full and one lap of watopia waistband). I kept most of my rides at 200-215 but with the interval days guess it was around 230w

Coldest: 15F / -9C
Longest rides in a single sit: 100km and 115km

You guys are all amazing.

I don’t think I’m going to make it this year, but I’m
Ok with that.

My speed just isn’t there yet but I have a benchmark for next year.

Well done all that have completed it and those that will.

Done and dusted. Solid week of riding for me, especially considering that I started this challenge after 10 days off the bike with Covid. 636 TSS is the biggest 7-day value for me in since a peak in mid-summer.

Started off really easy doing shorter rides with the slower pace partners in Z and progressed through the week. Nearly 13.5 hours of steady power on the pedals without coasting, and I can feel the fatigue from all those revs. Full day off the bike tomorrow and might do the short Fondo in Z on Sunday to cap the week.

Nice job…especially since you just got over COVID. Glad we bumped into each other on a couple of those rides!!
