I bring mine for photos, emergencies and sometimes for podcasts or music during intervals. Unless you have a watch with call functionality I would advise to carry a phone.
Yeah I have a 6.1" phone and it’s crazy to me that this is considered a small form factor phone… For me that is just about the maximum size I want from a phone…
I know I am only adding to the wide consensus that is “bring your phone” but going to lend my two cents into the echo chamber:
When I ride outdoors I often do it solo and I always share my location with my fiancee (via both Apple’s Find My and Wahoo’s Live Track Link).
If Tadej Pogacar forbid something were to happen to me and I was not able to reach her it would be nice to think she had some means to know where I was.
Also the medical id feature on my iPhone would presumably be helpful in a dire, on the road, incident.
