Fanboying today at Sea Otter… Saw @Jonathan and @Pete and Stephan (Clif Bar)
Where are you @Nate_Pearson?! I need my TR swags
Go see me insta @shutupkevin
I ran into @Nate_Pearson before the crit; watched @Pete in his crit and saw both Nate and @Jonathan today before my circuit race. Nate and John have been fun to chat with and I feel bad for Nate as he has been suffering through a GI bug the last couple days.
Podium for me today in the circuit (3rd) for the old guys. I was actually dropped over the top the last two laps and had to catch back on in the descent. Hard to explain but I passed a number of guys in the dirt with 300 to go fighting for position prior to last corner at 200 (tailwind).
Sea Otter is tough but so fun! If you have a chance come out and soak it in!
Way to go, @KorbenDallas! I also have a Sea Otter podium pic from the circuit race…I won my A race, and my teammate took 2nd in the women’s cat 3 with me! Thanks to TR and quite a bit of advice from @stevemz to take it easier the last couple of weeks!
Congrats!!! Well done!
Nice work!!!
I was there today and ran into Nate, GP Lama, DC Rainmaker, Fergdog, and even the Park Tool guy. It was like a Youtube meetup.
Thanks for the shirt @Nate_Pearson! And good chatting with you @GPLama!
@Pete Would be interested to hear your take on going gloveless.
Great job @KorbenDallas and @runriderandi! Here’s my podium for the win in the 35+ Cat 4 Crit. I just missed the podium in the circuit race (4th). TrainerRoad users are having a good showing.
Anyone know where to find photos from the road races? FinisherPix only has the mountain bike races and Gran Fondo.
Congrats!
5th of 12 in M45+ Cat 5. First RR ever and 10-15 years older than the younger participants, so I was pleased.
@KorbenDallas Thanks for your encouragement and advice. I did a few 3x20s sessions as suggested and a couple of thresholds as well. I took the prep and race seriously (ok, not like a pro), but definitively had a fun experience. Thanks again!
Also big thanks to @dhellman! She was the one who convinced me to do Early Birds with more encouragement along the way that paved the path to Sea Otter.
