Seasucker Bike Rack?

Mr Birchling and Wirt,

Thanks for the quick response. Given how little I’ll need a rack, I really don’t want to spend the money for a roof rack and putting on a hitch would be a real project involving a lot of cutting.

When I used a roof rack, I made a bright yellow & black “TOYS ON TOP” hang tag from my review mirror. There are various ones around to find or you can make one.

I even saw one a long time ago that was magnetic and stuck to the hood in front of the driver. It was spring loaded and wind at some forward speed folded down to be largely out of sight. But when you slowed down, it popped up as a warning. This potentially overcomes the “you get used to it” aspect of a static hang sign like I used.

Either way, something of a way to remind the driver is a good idea. I know people who also move or obscure their garage door opener with a similar goal. Can work there but miss height issues out and about.

Funny thing that, I usually only park in the garage during the winter because I don’t have an electric door opener, I have to get out and open the door manually.

I’ve used them for dozens of 6 hr highway trips without an issue. I always wipe the roof with a damp cloth before attaching.

Did a 1200 mile road trip in my buddy’s R8 (totally rad car!) with a roof box mounted on seasuckers. He drove exactly as you’d imagine someone in a R8 would drive with absolutely no issues. Went from 100 during the day to 60s and rainy at night. No issues! They’re legit! I’d have no problem using one after that week
