I received my X-Power pedals last week. I was pre-registered and SRM USA called me and two days later they were at my front door. Three rides in and they work flawless.
Will compare to the Kickr on a zwift race later this week.
Yes I did last week.
Looking forward to a dcrainmaker review!
I actually think these might be perfect for CX, assuming they work well. Itās pretty uncommon to strike a pedal in CX
I agree. I just find them cost prohibitive when you could buy a quarq for so much less.
Yeah, I canāt see why someone would buy an SRM product these days. Not to say they arenāt good, but they are so expensive and I think any advantage they had over other brands has evaporated over the last few years. The cheaper brands (which is just about all of them) have caught up in quality, reliability, etc. I just donāt see what you get for the premium price these days. I know I just sort of contradicted myself based on my prior postā¦
I mean, I would LOVE to have an SPD PM, we just need the Rival/105 trickle down version
Yeah, round one didnāt end well - but they think thatās due to it being an early production unit. Theyāve got a new set on the way to me thatās from recent production groups. Hoping to get it on the bike next week and re-start my testing process (both road and MTB).
At this rate IQSquare are likely to beat SRM to market with an official SPD power pedal offering.
(I jokeā¦ but itās 2020, anything can happen!)
anyone have an update here. I am anxious on getting my arms around these pedals
few years ago I had to upgrade my Cross bike to Hub Power meter, with the limitation that I can use it on my MTB Bike. Now I just bought a gravel bike and I donāt want to upgrade the wheels or the group set to install a crank arm based PM.
IQ2 or SRM? IQ2, donāt waste your time waiting and Ray @dcrainmaker has a quick update on his latest ā5 Thingsā¦ā blog post on the SRMs
Thanks for sharing this! Of course I just ordered the Xpedo pedals this morningā¦

I ride the SRM X-Power pedals for a month now and so far I am very happy.
Lost connection to the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt once, I am not sure why, but it may have been a low battery charge on the Wahoo or the pedals. Just did a 10+ hours 70mile ride in Pisgah last weekend and had no power drop or any other issues with the pedals. If you know, how rugged the Pisgah singletrails are, you know it isnāt easy on pedals. Very happy with the purchase, since I switch them between the MTB and CX-Bike
Thatās good to hear! Any problems with power spikes?
The highest wattage recorded on the long ride was 1199W, which could be a spike, but could also be a very hard effort. But the power data is very smooth, nothing compared to the single side Stages I had on the MTB prior. The Stages showed spikes regularly.
Iām curious if there are any developments here. I love the idea of spd power meter pedals. I sure wish there was a couple of choices. SRM seems to be bungling this release pretty bad.
This second set is doing well for me*. No accuracy issues that Iām seeing across indoor or outdoor workouts. Good stuff.
I just need to get around to spitting out some text and photos around it, and get out for another MTB ride or two.
*The only exception to this is I donāt think itās getting the claimed battery life. Iāve seen a few other people report this too. I seem to have to charge them way more frequently than it says, in particular, one pedal.
Thanks for the update!
