You can do them split or back to back - fueling is key on double workout days. The key is getting the work done and consistency.
I start work early so I am off early afternoons - generally 3:30PM.
I sometimes can swim at lunch (when I am in the office - but that has been a while)
Its a selfish sport - so I carve specific time each week to spend time with family/meals
I don’t watch TV/movies/Youtube unless I am on the trainer or treadmill (or with the wife/family)
Workouts sometimes get juggled during the week - don’t sweat it if its at least getting done
My typical structure this past season
Mon - off/recovery
Tues - Bike only (intervals work)
Wed - Swim after work, dinner with the family, run in the evening
Thurs - Bike/run brick right after work
Friday - Swim after work, dinner with the family, bike in the evening
Saturday - Long ride/brick run (early morning)
Sunday - Long run (early) and a recovery ride (afternoon/evening)
