TrainerRoad Outside Workouts Now Push to Garmin Edge šŸŽ‰

Hi

I have now turned off early access, turned off all connections and signed out of everything.

I have then turned on early access and reauthorised everything all with exactly the same issue. It appears to push and then it disappears. I was not asked again to verify I will adhere to the outdoors rules.

Thanks

Brian

Is it showing up in your Garmin Connect calendar on their website?

Not showing on Garmin connect iOS app or Garmin calendar on their website.

Sorry about this, we will get an engineer to look at your account on Monday.

@ming @Brittany could one of you create an issue for this please?

Thanks Nate. It looks awesome so can’t wait to try it - great workšŸ‘

Excelent !!! This is great…
Are there any plans in the future to also be able to push run workouts to garmin ?
I know … us triathletes giving you a hard time…

We haven’t discussed that internally. I feel like it’s a natural step after we’ve got a display for your run workouts in the app.

Sorry about this happening, Brian. I’ve written up an issue for an engineer to take a look at.

I’m not sure if it’s relevant but could you let us know what browser/platform you’re using (Mac, Windows/Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)? Thanks!

@briansteve77 A dev took a quick look and reset some stuff to get that scheduled ride pushed through. We’ll be looking at a more permanent fix in the future to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

I just did Kaiser +2 outdoors the other day and I think the workout had some logic errors on the garmin end. The first set would have me press the lap key to begin the 3 minute intervals, and automatically go into the rest intervals. Then, for the second and third sets, it would have me press the lap key to begin the first interval, but the second and third would then automatically start. This led me to be in some situations where I didn’t feel I could hold the target power on this section of road for the 3 minutes. Just seemed inconsistent.

Sure. Mac Mojave and iOS 12.3 using safari on Mac

Hi TR Teams, fantastic feature. Again.
I noticed something when riding outside.
When riding an interval I had to stop at lights. My AV Power instantly started dropping at an alarming pace. I pressed Pause button and restarted it in about 30 seconds. Back at home I changed in Settings so the workout stops when I ride slower than 4km/h.
With longer intervals the short rest probably doesn’t make a big change but what about short ones? What should I do when I have to stop/ ease off?

Please don’t suggest a quieter road? Sometimes there is not much choice for a ride lasting 2 hours

There’s a teaser I can get behind

Does it work on other Garmin Edge units? I tried Garmin Edge 1000. No workout being pushed.

I did Round Bald - a relatively straightforward session - 3 x 20 min tempo intervals with 5mins recovery in between yesterday. The transferred workout on my Garmin 1000 gave me 2 x 5 min recoveries in between the 20s. Is that an error in the converted outdoor workout or am I missing something?

Absolutely delighted by this, thanks for the update. Much looking forward to trying it tomorrow!

Did Warlow last week on my Edge 530 – it worked flawlessly. Looking forward to riding outside much more frequently!

Yes please! I would start using that immediately! :innocent:

Thanks for pointing this out @Shannonball. I took a look and there was an issue with how we setup the rest intervals. The second rest was meant to be a ā€œpress Lap when readyā€ interval, as opposed to a timed rest interval. This should be corrected now.
