Thats gorgeous!
Thank you very much!
Ill have pics up this summer of my next build (XC Fat Bike Racer)
I’m not far off you, Edinburgh. Looks awesome, imagine how slightly faster you could go if you slapped a rear disc and deep front on that bad boy!! And also maybe found a way to make the soles of your shoes more aero
After loving my first eight years on an entry-level hardtail, just picked this up
2022 Epic Evo. I am smitten, and haven’t even taken it in the trails yet.
I have often wondered how much of my CdA is due to my size 13 feet sticking in the wind.
Bit harder to keep control in crosswinds so I never went the disc route. It’s always blowing a gale around here!
I always thought if Batman rode bikes it would be a black M5. Maybe need to do some cape management to stop a nasty rear wheel strangulation scenario
Took me a minute
I’ve thought it would be kind of funny to try and fit Specialized Ground Control Tires onto Velocity Major Tom rims. But alas, 29er bike tires on a tubular 700c rim isn’t meant to be
This is my 2016 Eastway Emitter R2. For the non-Londoners Eastway bikes was named for the once famous grass-roots Eastway Cycle Circuit, since buried under the olympic park - this was one of the very last frames they made. The wheels are handbuilt Venn 40’s with CX Rays and Hope RS hubs:
I want to upgrade to aero & discs, but the feeling I have for this bike and the performance it provides holds me back from spending the cash Seeing as I race MTB and not road its hard to justify spending the £3k-£4k for the bike I’d want to replace it - an Ultegra Domane or AXS TCR.
And here’s my Scott Spark, on racing duty:
That is a nice looking bike! Great color scheme. I’d say no need to upgrade.
Rocky Mountain Altitude. Just put a Factory 38 up front and a Cane Creek Kitsuma coil in the back. Itching to ride, need some snow to melt so I can get some actual trail time before the first race of the season at the end of April.
The new ride for 2022!
I just picked it up from the shop today so I still need to tweak it a bit. I plan to swap out the stem, rear derailleur, and cassette. Also need to work on the fit a little.

New Open UPPER
First bike I’ve ever built up from the frame. And by “I’ve built” I mean “I sourced the parts and my LBS built it”
Debuting soon at a Barry Roubaix near you🤘
Now every time I look at my tires
That’s a sweet bike! How much was the frame?
I paid retail… $4500 for the frame
EDIT 3 MONTHS LATER: I thinks it’s both hilarious and sad that I didn’t get a single “like” on this post. Retail truly is for suckers
New gravel bike is ready to roll! Salsa Cutthroat started life as an Apex 1 build but I just finished installing Sram Force AXS shifters/brakes, GX AXS derailleur, and X01 chain/cassette. Took it for a quick shakedown ride today and everything works beautifully!
This is going to get me through some big events this year like Rooted VT, VT Overland and D2R2. I’m not the best bike handler so the geometry and huge tires really helps with the confidence. Alot of the gravel rides near me have you wishing for a MTB in some stretches.
