- Can you give examples of “they all”?
Don’t really see how feasible this is unless you are also offering nutrional guidance as well…weight loss is comprised of both calorie expenditure as well as calorie intake. Only giving someone a training plan geared towards weight loss leaves a critical part of the equation untouched.
I think they meant “every cycling plan can lead to weight loss due to calorie expenditure”
Yes, sorry just jumping on any plan will lead to weight loss eventually. As per the other poster yes nutrition is 80% of the issue. But i wonder if people actually using Trainer road are pretty much upto speed on nutrition in general. Its talked about a great deal that’s for sure, maybe some more additions the text that flies at the bottom of the screen on food and offsetting calories etc. Its the one subject where its been done to death and a industry all in itself,
That does make sense. I need to hire you as an interpreter today
I hadn’t noticed…
K&P classic. Loved that show.
Not specifically a new feature request to the TR training app, but a new way for TR to manage feature requests and share its product roadmap. Would TR consider using something like Featurebase?
I would like to see some long term stats on my cycling volume and consistency beyond TSS.
How many hours did I ride last year compared to the year before. How much time outdoors v indoors. How much time outdoors was i coasting, what was my time in other zones both indoors and outside etc
Not the sexiest request I know but for what seems like an easy career page to create I’m just surprised it doesn’t already exist.
If you want some stats then can I just check you’ve looked on Veloviewer.com ?
That is true, the data is readily available in several places but I would like Trainerroad to be my one stop shop for my training and analysis and im not sure why it isn’t.
Tbh, I’m not sure either. The data is there, and most of the stats that would be most wanted are easy to workout since I feel the majority of people don’t want to see the mega-deep info regularly (I count myself in this list I just use a couple of graphs to see improvements on intervals.icu).
I feel with the data analysts they must have in-house for AT and machine learning FTP this could be an easy win. I’ve made a feature request for this sort of thing previously and the TR forum folks did comment so I guess they’re aware but there’s only so many hours in the day!
Having just tried to update my plan builder plan it’s reminded me how frustrating it can sometimes be and that’s one of my key areas where I would expect improvement in future!
I’m currently on the second last day of a rest week, and went to update my plan as my A race is a week earlier than I thought. Plan builder seemingly got amnesia and forgot that this week was a rest week, so swapped out tomorrow’s final recovery ride for a progressive one instead, and then given me another rest week the week after next which is really quite annoying as I have obviously just had one…
I’ve managed to frig it now by putting my event back one day in the plan as it’s starting on a Sunday, so if I move it onto the Monday instead plan builder decides you have an extra week on the plan and that seems to make everything line up a bit better.
I’d much rather it gave you a 1 week shorter block later on than gave you back to back recovery weeks, or single-week blocks, but it doesn’t seem to be able to look backwards very well - it only looks forwards towards the event. I’d also really like it just to be less finicky about rest weeks - as a few other people have said it would be nice if you could force it to take certain weeks as rest weeks and then work around that
(and running support of course)
It would be nice if, in addition to the next interval sound, the application also flashed the screen (blinked whole screen red or something like that). When my son sleeps, I have to turn off the sounds and sometimes I miss the interval
This would probably be good for accessibility as not everyone can hear beeps anyway!
I am sure someone must have already mentioned this, but it would be great if the Trainerroad for MacOS was available in the MacOS App Store.
Yup, I agree completely: so far TR has not tried to touch data analysis, and you have to go to another tool (e. g. Training Peaks) to do race analysis. Exposing relevant default metrics in addition to FTP (depending on the type of training plan chosen, of course) would be a necessary first step.
I would love to set the default position of the minimised window of TrainerRoad on PC.
When you hit minimise it turns into a nice compact bar across the bottom - but I want it along the top.
Part of my problem is that when I do drag it into position it doesn’t “snap” into place and it takes me ages to get it in exactly to correct position so I don’t see any pixels bleeding through from behind it… is this what OCD feels like
I’d like a little toggle in settings to define behaviour when minimised - just top and bottom will do
EDIT: I just thought - the windows shortcut the “Win+Shift+Arrows” shortcuts might work? - i’ll give it a try
