I do about 80% of my indoor training currently at a guess in the TT position. I want to do more and have done so in the past after lowering my FTP to its current level (circa - 25w/ 10%) and switching of ERG. I’ve tried using ERG more this year and thats working for Endurance, Tempo and SS but I think Threshold and above stuff has me watching the target and even though I do stints more comfortably in the TT position, that target watching anxiety (anxious to avoid the ERG spiral of death) has me coming up and grinding too often. Perhaps I need to give up again on ERG for those workouts.
I am pretty much the opposite. Raising the front wheel while in the TT position changes how I sit on the saddle, leading to undercarriage discomfort. Funny how individual these things can be.
