Training in TT position - does it limit gains?

Yeah, hard to know. With CV being equal, it seems limiting since the TT would be all the time at less overall power demands, and therefore less likelihood for greater adaptations (as compared to the road work).

Speaking from personal experience(n=1), basically, on TT position I don’t have enough power output to reach my VO2Max.
Last season I did everything on 100% of the workouts on aero position and saw zero gains.
For this season I decided to do all indoor stuff on the road bike using the TT only when riding outside during weekends and I can tell you that i’ve been operating at the limit during some workouts as never before.
Pushing hard indoor on the road bike also feels much proper when compared to the TT bike even out of the aerobars.

I remember seeing this article years ago and it makes a ton of sense why TTers and triathletes need to train on a road bike.
