Sticking with the ironing board for now - I should have realised that 60-70cm won’t even clear the front wheel 
I quite like the idea of having more surface either side of the laptop, but if it’s above the handlebars then the laptop will get even more drenched. At least with the ironing board it’s easy to push the laptop back a bit to avoid the worst, and pull it forward to reach the keyboard
