I too will add my voice to the mix! Auto-importing swims and runs would be amazing!
+1 already dropped training peaks. I’m all in with the new plan builder!

+1 for as well. Would love to see my runs on the calendar

@Bryce Fun fact as opener to a broader question: A quick scroll and coarse glance at the “+1” through the replies of this topic I had about ~88. Whereas at this time there are only 21 likes to the top post.
Taking this as example:
- how do you prioritize community/forum feature requests in this forum?
- would you prefer users to like instead of reply “+1”?
- if so, could you spread that info somehow or mention it on the podcast and would you want to improve that process?
- or have you better internal (forum or otherwise) tools for ordering the feature request category?
- or is the feature request category not as important?
- maybe you or Nate can share a bit of info?
My feeling is that the main forum purpose is support and information and the feature request category is nice to have but a bit neglected since you have a strong and stacked vision and limited resources (hope this doesn’t sound negative, I want to sound neutral, no native language for me).
The number of comments a feature request gets, along with the number of individuals in the thread helps us to get a rough idea of the support a feature has from the community.
For instance, this thread has 167 comments and 135 users involved in the conversation, which suggests that this is a very “in demand” feature. By throwing a “+1” into the thread, it adds to the comments count as well as the user count, so it is an effective way of supporting a feature.
Now, despite the clear support for the feature, our Product Managers have the tough job of prioritizing features for development. Some of the features we develop are ideas that we have been exploring internally, and others are features that have been requested by users for some time.
The Plan Builder is an example of an internal project that was a critical step towards making TrainerRoad easier to use and customize, while Outside Workouts was a highly requested feature that was worked into the development cycle due to high user demand.
Tagging a thread as #featurerequest is important because it makes sure that either myself or someone from the TrainerRoad team sees the request. Many of these requests are shared directly with the team for consideration, and as resources become available, they are prioritized according to how they fit with our development vision.
The forum is useful for a lot of things and support, information, and feature request organization are a few of them. We do read all of the feature requests that come through the tag, however, not every request can be accommodated right away, and not every request fits our vision, so some requests will not be implemented.
Run/Swim support falls into the “not-quite-yet” category since it requires a lot of development to make happen, but it is still something that fits our vision and will be incorporated when we are able to dedicate resources towards it.
I hope this helps clear things up a bit!
Thanks for taking time for a longer answer, appreciated and yes it helps. Just took this thread as example. Always thought a like would be better than a +1 reply, interesting to read some of your other approaches!
BTW: Maybe could make sense to merge that thread:
under this thread?
+1 - Huge. Run/Swim sync completed activities from Garmin/Strava to calendar followed by workout analysis followed by workout scheduling.
Kind of assuming/hoping that when Nate/Chad/Jonathan IM rolls around there might just be a few triathlon specific features ready to roll out (hoping we get them before then really but hey-ho).
#featurerequest
+1 . This is fundamental to competing properly with TP et al.
Adding my +1 here, however, would rather see swim / run workouts sent to Garmin (similar to outside workouts) as a priority, and only then synced back to TR.
Thank you

I have not been paying much attention to the TR log since it is such a cumbersome process to put swim/bike workouts.
However, I was thinking that future versions of plan builder might include your training compliance in making plan builder an even better feature, so I have begun manually checking off the boxes for the swim/bike sessions in the TR calendar for the last couple of weeks. I have no idea if the calendar and workout compliance will ever be factored into plan builder but I would not be surprised if the ever innovative TR team tweaks it to make plan builder even better by using calendar data as one of the inputs.
+1 for this request. The calendar and plan builder are awesome. But being able to load swims and runs without having to load a workout and check it off would be a game changer.
+1 for me as well.
+1 for this feature as well. That would be amazing!
