Vittoria Corsa Pro (and Control + Speed)

Where do the existing CORSA and CORSA CONTROL tires fit into the picture? Are they just old models now or just there’s an extra tier?

The TLR are likely to be discontinued. The clincher might continue to exist…

What’s the verdict after riding these for a while? Are they a worthwhile alternative to GP 5000 S TR for a fast, everyday tire?

Thanks!!

I’m bumping this for @FrankTuna and myself…Any real world experience with the Corsa Pro compared to the Conti GP 5k? Two gents on the group ride today had nothing but, awesome things to say about the Pro. I have no doubt they corner better than the Conti but, do they roll/hold speed as good, better, worse? Which would you pick for your A race?

updating my table from above as AeroCoach now has both Corsa Pro TLR in 26c and 24c

adding the BRR testing drum power for 1 tire, which also has flaws…

Specialized Turbo Cotton 24mm 25.5 watts 12.5 watts 36/13 same size

And where clinchers are tested with a painfully slow 100g butyl tube.

Your thoughts on the Corsa Pro TLR after more rides on them?

I’m curious about how these (Corsa Pro) would fare as an everyday tire compared to the GP5000 S TR. I don’t have separate race and training wheels, and I’m not going to swap the tires out for every race. So right now I run GP5000 S TR all year. And before that I was running the first GP5000s. If the Corsa Pro have the same or better puncture protection and durability/longevity, I’d go with them because I love tan sidewalls.

I have just moved from the GP5000 s TR to the new Corsa Pro’s. To me the Corsa’s are a different league in terms of comfort and feel. I have no idea how it translates to speed (very difficult to compare as so many variables in everyday riding) but to me that is worth an awful lot.

That’s what I was hoping not to read but, thought would happen. Supple (cotton/silk sidewall) tires have always been quick to cut, puncture to the point they are not reliable even for races. Looking at you Veloflex…

Just grab your back up bike from the team car! /s

BRR testing looks like tread may be slighlty more durable than the GP5000 S TR but I guess you’re rolling the dice with those sidewalls.

Corsa Control up on BRR now: Vittoria Corsa Pro Control TLR 28 Rolling Resistance Review

Seems like it’s just a slower tyre without much more puncture protection?

The Vittoria Corsa N.EXT is cheaper and slightly faster, but no tan walls.

I don’t understand how Aerocoach measures these super fast, BRR as pretty fast, and bike radar at pretty slow. :man_shrugging:t2:

As long as the method is consistent when they test, the only interesting thing is how they are compared to other tyres in the same test.

I was surprised on how slow they are compared to others though.

Bike Radar’s test also puts the Schwalbe Pro One, Goodyear Eagle F1, and Pirelli P Zero at lower RR than the GP5000. BRR has all three of those tires at higher RR than the GP 5000. I believe Aerocoach does the same.

Also, Bike Radar’s resistance figures are a lot higher than BRR’s, despite the fact that their tests are similar in some respects (single wheel, 40 kg vs 38.8 kg load). I’m not sure how else their test parameters varied; BRR has got to do at least one test around 80 PSI, which is the pressure Bike Radar tested at.

Just mounted a pair of corsa pros tubeless and I’m getting a slow leak out of the sidewall. No sealant and I can only tell when I spray soapy water on the tire. Anyone else have the issue?

It’s only happening on my rear tire. My front is good to go.

My Pros wrap through there sidewall as well (actually sealant), but the loss in air pressure is not more than that of any other TL tire I have.

I ran Vittoria Corsa Pro (26mm) with Vittoria Air-Liner Pro inserts on my Hoodoo 300 attempt this year. The tires worked great. Following the descent through Cedar Breaks, at TS #3, I noticed the front tire was a little soft, but I was able to pump it up and there was no leak. I had hit a pothole which I had not scene (it was dark), so that may have caused a small puncture or air loss. Otherwise, no issues. I really enjoy the ride on these tires, and the inserts gave me a little more confidence on the nighttime descent.
