What's the ultimate small saddle bag?

@Drew

The B-RAD TekLite Roll-Top Bag 0.6L – Wolf Tooth Components is only 50g for the bag and strap.

The PRO Discover Team Saddle Bag | Pro Bikegear (pro-bikegear.com) is a bit heavier duty and 61g.

Obviously not having an easy opening it is impacts how much you can get stuff in and out. and how quickly.

I use this: Products | Aeroclam | Bike Saddle Bag | Bike Bag | Cyckit – Cyckit Ltd
Very neat and tidy, easily accessible, not a great name.

I use the Silca Seat Capsule Premio. I think I’ve jammed two TPU tubes, two CO2, Pedro’s levers, a Silca inflator, multitool (with masterlink storage), and a patch kit.

Surprised nobody has said Ornot

I used the Arundel Uno for a bunch of years before switch over to carrying things in my pocket again. It was really small and you could get it pretty tight so there was no movement. I could fit a butyl road tube, a topeak mini-9 multi tool, a CO2 canister and CO2 pump head, and a small piece of rubber to use as a tire boot. But the fit was super-duper tight. It was a little tricky to get the stuff in and out of there

I did… and ranked it as overpriced… but now when I google it again it looks like it’s still reasonable ($39). For some reason when I looked it up this morning it came up as $75 (probably accidently looked at some bundle), whoops! Will edit.

The last time I used a saddlebag it was a Scion and they are quite neat: Bike Saddle Bags | Scicon Sports

Im guilty of that in recent years, this year I’ve barely ridden 7,500miles. In years by, when I was using a saddlebag, I’d be at over at 10,000miles at this time of year

It was definitely the saddlebag making you ride more! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Real answer is sell your bike for one with downtube storage.

Came here for this. Zippers suck. Especially for gravel or dirt. They’ll get clogged, rust, and generally become problematic.

I use this Tool Saddle Bag bikepacking bag I really like it except for the fact that when you open it, it will slip out from the paddle rail. Not a big deal.

There are several pretty puncture resistant, very supple fast and grippy tyres around. I have run the veloflex Corsa Race and Evo for 3 years including a lot of commuting through city centres without ever being unable to get back home and almost every time needed to change tyre I ended up having to use forceps or even cutting the sidewall and getting out the liners first.

Anyway I use the Vaude Race light, it’s very easy to take off and could probably hold a couple of inner tubes though I have never tried

Love mine too! Most people don’t even notice it

I’m a bidon storage person - godsend when you have multiple bikes.

I have the ELEMENTA SEATBAG | Topeak for when I want 2 bidons for water - it works well.

This Canyon one is probably the smallest one I’ve ever seen.

I have the small Topeak one, it fits my phone, a small pump, tubeless darts, Allen keys and my keys. And sometimes it also fits some gummies.

It does wrap around the seatpost a bit, but I think it’s so small it looks fine. Certainly better than some of the even smaller ones people post here that a) wouldn’t fit my phone and b) look silly imo, or of handlebar bags or even frame bags.

I’m gonna say it; putting your phone in a saddle bag is weird.

Do you put your gels in there too and stop and unzip to eat?

This is the second interesting competitor after the Speedsleev. So far everything else is heavier and more expensive than an Elementa for little gain.

Wonder if you could get a small multitool in there as well as a TPU tube.

Then pump or battery pump in pocket.

Putting it in your jersey where risk of damage and sweat exposure is higher is weird. Do you pull out your phone while you ride and use it? I don’t need my phone while I ride, why would it be in my jersey?

No…a) I wrote pretty much everything that I put in there, which didn’t include gels and b) there is zero logical connection between where you keep your phone and where you keep your gels.

Maybe you think it’s weird, but nowhere near as weird as your comment.

I’ve been using this for several years and it has worked well. The roll top makes it expandable without extra weight or complication.
