I’ll be racing Cat 3 50-54 again. I pre-rode on Wed. Like Steve said, it is very flowy. Definitely try not to scrub any speed with your brakes!
I will probably get over the mountain from the desert around 9:30ish.

Greg, you just saved my weekend with your posting on Strava! I read your update that you were heading to Vail Lake tomorrow and I was thinking to myself, he has the wrong date! I was totally thinking my race was Sunday again (like Bonelli) and I would have missed Sat and shown up Sunday with no race to ride. Ty! Barry

Well, there’s always the UCI Pro race on Sunday! Excuse me race director, you don’t mind if I jump in with these guys cuz I missed my start yesterday 
Ha! I would have been so slow they would have elbowed me out of the way! 
Congrats man!!! Tough race for me but I enjoyed the course. That flow track was epic!

Nice job y’all! Vail Lake is one of my favorite venues. I would not be upset if we had Fontana and Vail instead of Bonelli next year

After that, I’m planning on doing all of the West / Mountain West Pro XCTs (UT, MT, CO).

I’m 50/50 on whether I make the drive up. I’d like to go because the atmosphere is fun, but I’m also racing Bonelli again on the 7th and I’m feeling a bit of longer term fatigue creeping in.

Yeah, it’s easy to overload yourself with stress with so many races early in the season. That’s the plight of SoCal XC racers, it seems.
Up here we have so few races (relatively speaking) that it makes it much easier to stay in track. Silver linings

I’m going to Sea Otter. Has anyone had a chance to ride the new XC course?
