2022 Specialized Allez Sprint

Ah, for some reason I thought it was a performance thing, not ease of manufacture.

I tend to believe it IS a better design, and not just from manufacturing ease standpoint (which is also true). Here is the marketing related stab at it (video in particular), but if focuses on the engineering behind the system.

This looks awesome :ok_hand:

oh my god did anyone actually watch this on youtube? absolutely embarrassing

So no details? The ā€œpremiereā€ video didnā€™t really show us much and Iā€™m not seeing anything on the website.

Not sure why they had a 2 minute countdown for 30 seconds of contentā€¦

haha yeah that SSSUUUCCCKKKEDDD

I have several Specialized bikes but with the shit theyā€™ve been pulling lately I honestly think Iā€™ll be looking at Giant/Trek first in the futureā€¦

looks like 9am PST is the official announcement

Rather anticlimactic to say the least.

Missed that in the description of the vid. Seems odd to have that video come out an hour early but I guess another 50 minutesā€¦

Just stopped by my LBS, I ordered all 10 framesets they were allocated.
Iā€™m gonna flip them for $6500 each.
If anyone on the forum wants one, lmk - Iā€™ll cut you a deal at $6450 + shipping + paypal fees.

(kidding :joy:)

Iā€™ll reserve further judgement for the ā€œrealā€ reveal thatā€™s supposed to happen in about half an hour. Preliminarily, though, it looks to me like theyā€™ve sanded down a lot of the super-aggro identity of the Allez Sprint and turned it into a fine aluminum road bike. Iā€™m ready to have my mind changed but it just doesnā€™t look like the absolute weapon the old one did.

Edit: and if it is, indeed, $3k like people are saying then I truly donā€™t get it. Previously at $2200 it was on the borderline of ā€œjust get a decent carbon bikeā€ but at 3k? forget it

pick of the litter IMO for frameset colors on offer - i think it is a dupe of one offered on an s-works SL7 though?

Specialized is the Supreme of cycling. Youā€™re paying for a logo and I guess to say Legion and Alaphilippe ride the Ā« same Ā» bike as you do. Eventually, Jake Paul is going to be spotted on an Allez and will publicly challenge Mark Cavendish to a no-drop race and the cycle will be complete.

  • Thatā€™s for the internal housing routing, so functional and not really ā€œdrilliumā€.

This price has to be one of the funniest things I have seen in so long. $8,275 US before taxes for an aluminum frame and mid range group set and ā€œmidā€ range carbon wheelset.

People wonder why cycling is dying.
