Whoop!! Whoop!! Let’s get this started.
So a little bird has told me the Epic line up is getting a shake up. I’m sure that’s not much of a surprise to anyone.
Hump
Waiting patiently for the bike yoke electric dropper. Light weight, small activation button and internal battery.
This looks good. I was holding out for an updated AXS Dropper but I had to pull the pin on a new dropper now as the Fox Transfer is too annoyingly bad. I decided on a wolftooth resolve.
Mine only works great when it’s warm outside. If it’s anywhere near 50 or below, it doesn’t want to come back up.
Hump
Mine sticks down more than 50% of the time now and getting worse. I have to do a sqaut to get it down and another to get the dropper to come back up.
I heard is going to come with fox live valve
That would be a big departure. It would be awesome if so.
I am really hoping there’s a new Anthem this year with updated LiveValve.
They’re such damn good bikes and they got almost all the way there with their last update.
I’m hoping/curious to see if we see a few more DW-link bikes come out this year.
2024 Oiz getting dropped off here next week. With my luck, I’ve got Covid and we’re getting hit with a big snowstorm today so I probably won’t get to ride it outside for a while. I guess I can finish getting parts swapped and getting the old bike sold…
Instead of buying a new bike, I’m taking my Epic Evo and doing some upgrades, updates.
Should be a fun project.
Suspension change, maybe a wheel change.
Hump
Let us know what upgrades you end up doing. Fun stuff!
Right now, I’ll be switching to the new Sid Ultimate SL 3 position, with a Sid shock in the rear.
It will take the front to 110 instead of 120, but I think it will be just fine.
The wheels I have are an older version of the Roval SLs. Those will be stripped down to make sure they can be re-laced. If so, I’ll do that, for the lightweight wheelset.
I have a new set of regular Control Carbons that I can run a more aggressive trail/xC tire. I’m thinking the wicked will.
Hump
I know it’s Olympic year, but it feels like we just had major updates with the Spark (2021/2?), new SuperCal (2023), Epic WC (2023), Mach 4SL (2023), Oiz (2023), plus many others I’m positive I’m not considering off the bat.
It doesn’t feel like many of the models/ranges are actually due an update
I hope that the 2024 revision is to the Top Fuel. Anthem, Scalpel, and hopefully something else exciting.
Other than the Top Fuel and Anthem, which I think are both really awesome bikes that could be fettled just a minute amount into perfection, I suspect most the updates this year are going to be integration type.
Interesting we haven’t seen any more sneak peeks of the reverse crown Fox 32, or any sign of them doing that on the 34 (yet!).
Makes since since I got en epic evo last spring
Moving away from fox dps/34 sc? I’m thinking of doing the same with my blur tr but not convinced, lots of people saying rockshox xc is harsher than fox!
Yea, I’ll keep the Fox stuff that is coming off, but just want to try something different
I’m adding a power meter to my Evo this year. The other thing I want to do is replace the wheels. The stock ones on the Comp are around 2000 grams I think. Just gotta decide what to go with
I also have the comp. Upgraded to XO1 mechanical and Roval Control carbon wheels. The feel instantly went from trail bike to race bike.
Next up is a suspension upgrade but curious if there will be a noticeable enough difference for the cost.
Any idea when?
