4iiii dual sided power

Hey,

I’ve got some new power meter cranks arriving today 4iiii precision pro dual sided. I’ve read a few articles about the dual sided power not working over Bluetooth? Is this still an issue and if not how do I setup the new power meter?

Thanks for any help

Tom

Following, because I literally sent out my crankset to 4iiii yesterday, for the same PM.

I don’t know exacly how it works in terms of 4iiii but I have Giant Power Pro dual side PM on my Giant TCR and there is no issue with sent the power data through the bluetooth. It works just fine with my Wahoo and my Android Phone. My Stages LR had worked just fine too with the bluetooth (it was before it died to death  ). There is a setting in the power meter app to link/unlink L and P PMs. Take a look for the description for Stages Pairing a Stages Power LR unit to your head unit : Stages Cycling I found sth similar for 4iiii https://4iiii.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/4iiii_PRECISION-PRO-USER-MANUAL-20170123-1.pdf

I have been using a dual sided dura ace specialized pm which is basically a 4iiii rebadged and the right side has never worked. I bought used (take offs) at a pretty hefty price and felt duped. The seller said it worked when shipped. I contacted 4iiii and Specialized but neither would touch them without a proof of purchase so I’ve been running a really expensive single sided pm. All my units see the right side but will not calibrate no matter how many times I try.

One more info. I’m not able to calibrate my Giant Power Pro using TR app but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work properly. It seems the TR app issue. I can calibrate it using my Wahoo or Giant app and the power numbers looks ok with TR app using bluetooth and on Wahoo with ANT+ connection enabled at the same time. I felt I have to mention that, just for the record

I’ve never had any issue using my Specialized S Works Dual-Sided Power Cranks, which are just rebranded 4iiii units, with TR. Ironically, I did have an issue with upgrading a single-sided Praxis sided unit to a dual-sided unit directly with 4iiii. The newly added drive side unit simply never worked right, and has dropout issues. However, 4iiii let me return the crank, have the added unit removed, and gave me a refund. Now the unit is a single sided power meter once again.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve read into things a bit deeper and now ordered Favero Assioma pedals as I think they’ll serve me better. Thanks again though :+1:
