"A" race is over...what now?

Through the spring and Winter I used TR to get ready for my Gravel “A” race this past weekend.
I used plan builder and was very happy with the plan and results.
My plan is now over but i’m not ready to take a break and want to stay sharp for group rides and a possible late season fondo.
What would be the best way to build a 2-3 month plan, since I dont have any true races to target?

Hey,

I’m glad that you enjoyed training with TR over the winter/spring. :sunglasses:

If you want to continue to follow a structured training plan but aren’t training for a specific event, I’d still recommend building out a custom plan with Plan Builder.

You can always enter in the events that you want to train for once you know those details down the road, and Adaptive Training will adapt to focus on peaking for those.

You’ll probably start back with some base training which is definitely the right move given your recent fitness peak and the available time between now and your next event.

I hope your event went well!

If you want to keep training, (after taking a down week after your A race) I would just load up another set of plans that target either something your interested in or a weakness of yours.

If you are normally a real punchy rider and do lots of 30/30s, try a sustained power build and a fondo or TT plan. If you do a lot of longer SS efforts, try something shorter and higher intensity like a rolling road race or criterium plan.

Go see the 2024/2025 Offseason thread.

super helpful, thank you! i should have mentioned I also continued to use my TR plan right through the summer (indoors weekdays, outdoors weekends) and was very happy with my “A” race

That’s good to hear!

I’d take a little time off (even a couple of days) and think about what you want out of training moving forward.

Again, it’s hard to go wrong with Plan Builder!
