Considering there is only a thread on here to evaluate surgery/ no surgery of a grade 3, thought I’d make a post here in order to serve as a resource for those to come who have had AC joint reconstruction.
I am 5 weeks post-op from a left AC joint reconstruction procedure done via dogbone button and allograft methods. Sustained my injury in Tulsa Tough this year when I went OTB and landed inverted perfectly on my shoulder to obliterate the AC joint. Unfortunately post-op, I still have separation consistent with a Grade 2 AC joint injury, but hope to still regain full functionality in my shoulder, with no limits on cycling, olympic lifting, running, throwing my kid around, etc.
Curious when folks reached certain cycling milestones, specifically:
- Riding on the trainer with 2 hands
- Cleared to ride outside
- Felt ok standing
- Felt ok sprinting out of the saddle
- Any other comments are welcome!
