Adaptive Training add a workout or just change?

I think I messed up and just want to make sure. I had a workout scheduled for Saturday. Friday was open and I figured I would do Saturdays program a day early. I clicked on the load workout and did it. Then adaptive training popped up, I clicked accept, and noticed the new Saturday workout was there.

I don’t think TR erased that workout even though I did it a day earlier. I think it just adapted Saturdays workout to a new workout. I just want to make sure TR only adjusts workouts and does not add ones to the calendar from skratch? If so, I will delete this workout and stay on my normal plan.

You need to move it to Friday and then load the workout to have it do what you want. Hitting load workout, even if from the calendar in this case, treats it like you added a workout to friday as it has nothing to associate the friday ride with. Also moving it would then take the saturday ride out of the equation for future adaptations.

  • This is the ideal and can be done in the moment for best results.

  • But it is also possible to do this after the fact. Just move the Saturday planned (now showing as skipped most likely) to Friday. Then give TR a minute and it should associate the workout you did with the one you just moved and everything will be set.

Right, it will never “erase” a workout.

  • Yes, because it thinks you skipped the workout because there was not one completed on the same day as the one scheduled. You are making a leap to expect TR to connect workouts on different days and it won’t do that.

Thanks for info. I do know how to move workouts and I usually do. I just forgot this time. I will delete the adapted one and continue on my plan.
