Started build phase this week after 3 weeks of sweet spot in base. After completing a sweet spot, 2x VO2 and threshold workouts noticed today progression levels for sweet spot dropped from 6 to 4.8 whilst VO2 and threshold increased. Can anyone help explaining why adaptive training would adjust sweet spot down when these sessions all had some stress on this zone?
There’s lots of topics on the forum about this. One possibility is that you’ve raised your FTP recently. A work out may have been achievable at your old lower FTP at a specific PL but after a raise in FTP that same specific PL would no longer be achievable and it would need to adapt down. PL’s are relative to your FTP and not absolute. If you hover your mouse over the SS PL bar (any bar for that matter) on your career page it will give an indication as to why it changed.
If you hover over your progression level chart on the website it will display what is the basis for the latest change.
@Torneng gave you the right advice, you can hover over the PL to get an idea why (example below):
Beyond that, best protocol for specifics on AT and your Progression Levels is always to check in with the support team.
They have the best visibility to the full scope of your internal ride logs and can provide some insight + make any changes if needed.
