Aftermarket chainrings for sram axs to use with p2m PM

i have a power2max powermeter installed on ultegra chainrings and rotor cranks in one of my bikes
I came across some force derailleurs/shifters so i would like to upgrade the bike to wireless.

IMO it is very unlikely that the force FD work with ultegra chainrings. as ultegra has a 16 teeth difference and sram axs has a 13 teeth difference (48/35 vs 50/34)

i am looking for some chainrings that are compatible with axs and allow me to install the power2max PM while keeping the current bottom bracket and axle which is 24mm. or do you think that the force FD will be able to shift properly the ultegra chainrings despite the 16 teeth difference?

everything is 12 speed. (cassette, chain, chainrings).

i have seen that rotor has something to use with their inspider powermeter: https://www.bike24.com/p2479486.html
what do you think it will work best? aftermarket chainrings or Force FD on ultegra chainrings?
how is the shifting quality of rotor chainrings with a flatop force chain? i heard is not as good as shimano but compared to sram?

I’ve never switched drivetrain brands with one of their PM’s, but I have found the Power2max support folks to be very helpful with questions like this.

I’m using a Rival AXS FD with SRAM 11 speed 46/34 rings and it shifts fine despite being the ‘wrong’ tooth profile per SRAM. If you could get a 36 little ring that would get you closer, but I doubt there is harm in trying that setup out in the spirit of experimentation.

I built a bike in 2022 with Praxis 52/36 rings and a Red FD. Shifting was fine.

I’d start by trying out the Force FD with the rings you have it. If you’re SOL, Carbon-Ti is another option for chainrings.

I have the P2M NGEco with rotor cranks and made the switch from Shimano to SRAM Red. I ended up using Pass Quest chainrings from Alixpress and they are great! I’ve done 1x using their 52T narrow wide and also 2x using their 54-40 chainrings and compability was spot on.

did you keep the same bottom bracket?

Yup! Same bottom bracket.

You can also look at Carbon-Ti’s XAXS rings. They make them in the gearing sizes/options that correspond to AXS systems - 48/35, 46/33, etc. They also make regular 12-speed chainrings with larger, traditional tooth jumps - 52/36, 50/34, etc. Shifting will not likely be as crisp as the smaller tooth jumps, but it works generally. I’ve presently got a SRAM AXS system set up with 50/34 Praxis 12 speed rings, and it’s working fine so far.

If you’re interested in 1x, your options expand a bit, in my opinion. Look at Wolftooth, Rotor, Praxis, and I believe there are a few other brands as well.

my questions are. will the power2max installed on ultegra chainrings fit on those aftermarket 110x4 chainrings?
can I keep the hollowtech2 bottom bracket and 24mm axle.
my bike has already rotor aldhu cranks. it is a must when you install a p2m.

I am interested in keeping the 48/35 that i have in my other bikes

is there a difference between the rotor and carbon-ti except perhaps the weight and huge price difference. I can get the 2x set on rotor for 106 euros, carbon-ti cost 250 only for the big ring.

I know for the Pass Quest chainrings (and Alugear and Rotor) the answers are yes, yes, and yes.

As long as you are keeping the Rotor Aldhu and Power2Max crank and spider, you would keep the same bottom bracket.

The question you are really asking is whether the chainrings you want to use come in the appropriate BCD (bolt circle diameter), which for your Power2Max spider and Rotor setup is an asymmetric 110 x 4 BCD (Shimano’s BCD). The only one about which I’m certain is Carbon-Ti, which makes 110 x 4 BCD chainrings in the AXS-specific options (48/35, 46/33, etc.) Here is a link to the options they have. You will see they have 110 x 4 BCD options.

I believe others have answered about whether Rotor’s rings and other brands will fit the 110 x 4 BCD, and it appears the answer is yes. You will just need to verify what sizes are offered for the chainrings that come in the 110 x 4 BCD pattern.

Updated picture on my new bike with the 2x Pass Quest rings (54-40) and sram red (with original bb).

wow with those wheels and those gear… you must hit 50k on zone2…

how is the shifting quality?
